Hi guys,

Rivals on the ice but please take it easy on me haha. I heard such good things on Boston and I’m finally visiting September 3.

My friends and I are leaving Montreal Saturday morning to watch the Red Sox against the Rangers (4pm game). We’ll stay at a hotel close to Fenway. We’ll leave Monday morning so Saturday night + Sunday is open.

Any must see places? Good places to eat, pubs etc? I’ve been recommended Quincy Market and Havard campus to begin with.

We’re a bunch of guys between 30-35 years old that love all four major sports for what is worth.

I appreciate all the help!
Go to southie and go to lincoln tavern or loco for food. Or go to dorchester and go to dorchester brewing company or the banshee for beer. Saltie girl in the back bay is the best seafood in boston IMO. All those places are for late 20s-40s people, except the banshee which is just an irish pub, so all ages are in that spot. My go to sports bar was harp and bard but full disclosure thats only because it was across the street from my house. And unfortunately my favorite dive is out of business, RIP beacon hill pub. Thats all i got

About 2 hours from the city now coming from Toronto, going to the Sox vs Jays tomorrow. Any suggestions what to do before the game/what time to get down there?
Get a lobster roll at eventide before the game or go grab beers at one of the bars outside fenway, doesnt matter which one

If you like Mexican food then I’ll repeat my suggestion to go to El Pelon Taqueria on Peterborough Street, walking distance to the park. Don’t let the ultra casual counter service and picnic tables turn you off. The burritos are fantastic.

Hey everyone, I'll read through the last few pages of this thread tomorrow, but wanted to drop this in here now. Fiance is heading up to Cambridge for work and I'll be joining. Red Sox play the Yankees when we're up there and looking to get tickets, either night would work. I was there for the winter classic but have never been for a baseball game. I know they've got some weird seats there, so looking for a little input as to where and where not to sit. I was looking on the game time app and there seem to be some decent tickets available: roof box, right field box. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Staying near MIT and won't have a car, so any food recommendations would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

Right Field Box are the tourist seats, Your view will be towards deep left field, and you will risk whiplash trying to see the plate. Roof Box will be better. Up high, but better sightlines.

Right Field boxes and grandstand avoid at all costs - anything on the roof is fine.

Walking to the park from MIT is easy

Hey guys,

Have some friends staying in the East Cambridge/West End area on Friday, and we're trying to find a spot to do a fantasy football draft that night. ~10 people with laptops. I've been calling around, and the options aren't amazing. Any tips...? Doesn't even necessarily have to be walking distance to that area, but naturally, that's preferred. Any tips would be great, sometimes doing these live drafts on location in a location that nobody lives in has its problems haha

Yeah for sure. My backup is to just grab a hotel conference room and fill it with booze and wings haha
This place might work - they have wifi and nothing is at TD Garden that evening.

Call and ask for Skipper

Let me know how it worked out
This was the perfect spot for what we were doing. Everyone had a great time. We actually ran them out of the tequila type we were drinking haha. John - the most Boston sounding man ever - treated us so well, was talking football with us and all that kind of stuff. Thanks again for the rec

Living an 8 minute walk from Fenway Park, there are a bunch of touristy options like the Cask and Flagon, GameOn, etc. But our neighborhood bar, The Corner Tavern, on the corner of Mass Ave and Marlborough Street is one of our favorites. The Old Bay wings are unbelievable and get a side of the pasta salad. It's pesto based and the wings and that are a meal in itself. They have outdoor seating if it's a nice day and usually attract other Sox/visiting fans to talk sports with. The kitchen is also open till 1am if it ends up being a post game option.
I just want to say thank you once again. We went at the Corner Tavern and we sat outside. Nice spot and the food was delicious. I told everyone to take the pasta salad.

All my friend were thanking me for asking on HF (had to explain what that was lol)

I’m actually in the hotel now, leaving tomorrow 6am.

I may hate the Bruins (and Sox being a Yanks fan) but your city (and sports scene) are unique and amazing, you should be proud!

I’m a die hard Pats fan so there’s that.

Most of us hate the Habs too! My daughter and I may be going to a Bs game in Montreal next April. Maybe we will be asking you Hab fans about Montreal!

So my wife and I secured some really nice seats for the Bs home opener. We haven't come down to watch a Bs game in 4 years, but I swear hotel prices have gone up at least 50% since then and it isn't even tourism season...yeesh.

Figured we'd stay at the Citizen M but they don't have any parking. Was looking at the downtown Onyx and their valet is $62 per day. If we decide to stay at Citizen M instead, does anyone know whether there is a local parking lot that would otherwise cost us less than $62 / day? (We'll be staying 2 nights)

Thanks all.

The boston common garage is the cheapest parking garage in downtown, but its a good 15-20 minute walk from north station. Not sure what it costs now but it used to be 20$ a day

Appreciate the info. We may just end up having to spring for the valet....maybe not ideal for us to be lugging around carry-on back and forth for 1.3 miles!

I'll pull a Harry Sinden and compensate by playing it on the cheap at the pro shop instead.

@Fenway @jgatie

Think we're going to grab tickets for the game tonight since the weather turned out to be better than expected. Looking at two different options right now and was wondering if you had any input. There's Sec RB25 Row E for $33 a seat or Sec PB8 Row C for $43 and Sec PB11 Row A for $47. They are all up high, so I am guessing they should all be fine, but wanted to check. Thanks!
