Holland + a mid pick or Holland @50%.
He's gritty, cheap, plays all three forward positions and is good defensively. I think there is offensive upside, but he hasn't shown it for long stretches.

Ville Pokka is ready to be in the NHL now, he has nothing left to learn in the AHL, but his ceiling is probably a 3 at this point with him most likely being a 4-5. Hawks have a lot of younger defensive pieces like forsling that are exempt from the expansion draft and Pokka is not. I've seen Kapanen thrown around. Shoot away.

Rangers could use younger D. What would you be looking for from us?

It would free us up to trade Klein or, ideally, take a lesser return on Girardi.

I kind of like the sound of

McD - Klein
Staal - McIlrath
Skjei - Pokka

Then it's only one wonder twin left to move.

Yes I believe so.

But if Pokka has a great World Cup, I think his price goes up way more. I mean we will see him against the big boys, how does he handle #1 lines.

The hawks would never move him now without seeing more of him against elite competition. Even if he is a #6 on that team, which he isn't, it will go a long way to getting a better handle on his value.

From a Chicago perspective, I can't wait to see him and Kempny.

Chicago/Rockford fans - how has Pokka's skating come along as that was really the only knock on his game?

Anyway, it's amusing to see Andrey Pedan get compared to Ville Pokka. You kinda want stable and consistent play out of your defenders. Pokka has that. Pedan, not so much.

I think Pokka's really underrated, what about from NYR

Halverson + Lindberg or Huska (USHL goalie of the year) + 5th round pick

Chicago doesn't have great goaltending prospects, Nalimov is young and doesn't have overly impressive numbers compared to other Russian NHL starters/backups at the same age. Lindberg is still young and the strange lineup choices last season by AV made it hard to really pinpoint his potential. Either way he's a productive 2-way top 9 at the minimum who can play anywhere in the lineup.

We don't really need Pokka anymore. We're too stacked on the right side and he was traded because of it.

I wish Pokka the best, but meh to him coming back.

We don't really need Shane Prince either. I just figured Pokka has less of a chance being selected in expansion than de Haan. Could move de Haan in a package for forward help and have Pokka in the lineup or Pelech for that matter.

I like de Haan, don't get me wrong. Just think there is some ways to wiggle around and complete the roster in this case.

I really like Shane Prince. He's on a super cheap contract, he had a good playoff, and he loves being here. He's at worst an extra forward.

Do you want to play Pokka on his off-side? Because that's what we'd get if we acquired him. Forget about the expansion draft, that's irrelevant to this. Our defense is set and it's stacked.

Because we can protect a 4th defenseman instead of guys like Leivo and Leipsic (and possibly trade Bozak)... Honestly looks like the best players we might lose are Marincin or Martin lol.
