Hate to hijack your thread but if anyone could tell me of any Ranger friendly bars in New Orleans it would be appreciated.

I know there are at least a few Ranger fans here in Atlanta. I moved here from Queens myself a year and a half ago. With that being said, would anyone be interested in getting together a viewing party at one of the local establishments? I live in Vinings, so anything on the North side of the city would be convenient for me. My first thought is Taco Mac Prado, but I'm certainly open to suggestions.

I live about 7 minutes from Tmac in Prado!

Las Vegas for SCF?

I'm leaving for a work trip in Vegas this week & I'll be there for a few weeks.

I was wondering if anyone else on here was going to be there to maybe meet up & watch the games.

Also, if anyone knows of a Rangers or hockey centric place to watch that'd be sweet too. Otherwise I'm planning on watching in the sports books.

LGR!

A few weeks in Vegas?? Good luck. After 4 days my liver has it's bags packed and is hailing a cab to take us back to the airport. If I was there for a few weeks I'd be dead for sure.

If I were you I'd go to one of the big sports books.

I was there during game 3 of the Montreal series. I just watched at one of the hundreds of sportsbooks.

I'm thinking of checking Bryant park out for the first game, if it's good I'll probably go there for every game.

We used to have a big group of like 20-25 friends that went out every year for 2 weeks.

This is actually a pretty important biz trip opportunity & I probably won't get to enjoy Vegas at all for the first 2 weeks.

DC/Arlingont Meet Up

Anyone in DC/Arlington want to get together Wednesday? My apt building right off the Clarendon metro has a theater room. 12 lazy-boys, stadium seating, big ass projector.

As long as one other person wants to join I'll reserve the room. You'll need to provide your own booze :)

Anyone in the Chapel Hill/Durham/Raleigh area watching game 1 at a bar with sound on Wednesday night?

Wouldn't surprise me if they're using the Wednesday to start setting up for the Cotto fight Saturday

Ugh really? They would show the fight over game 2? Maybe the fight is later in eve and wouldn't overlap with 7pm Ranger start time?

haha, just saw this. I'm considering it, I have a summer class that night. I'll see if I skip

It completely sucks they dont open up the Garden now to watch the cup games in LA inside MSG on that Beautiful scoreboard. It would be nice if they let STH people in for free or even 20 bucks or something for every fan. They will still make money regardless. Other teams do this but ofcourse Rangers are behind in the department just like the hot ice girls of most teams haha.

I went one of the nights they did this during the '94 Cup Final. It was great - was (I think) $10 to get in. If I remember right they actually had John Amirante sing the anthems before the game and the zamboni came out between periods. Pretty much a full game experience except you looked up instead of down to watch the game. I can only imagine how amazing it would look on the new scoreboard.

Think i might head there with my dad, brother (he's 14, so the only other bar I can really get him into is either Feile, next to Stout, or Millers Ale House by me in Paramus), and a few buddies.. possibly my girl... shouldn't be too difficult considering the game starts at 8...

ALso, for those near Queens, PLEASE CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!

More specifically, the beer garden: http://www.studiosquarebeergarden.com/

LITERALLY, the best TV screen I've ever seen. If Queens wasn't so damn far from Western Bergen County, I'd go for every game.

Let's do this guys. Let's take over the Staples. Lets get more fans into SoCal and take over and spread the blue.

I'll definitely be rocking my Ranger colors. My roommate (her father is a season ticket holder in NY) and myself have been talking about this possibility for years. It's tough to get back to NY in such short time to get to a game, but them being in LA within driving distance...I had to pull the trigger.

We will be in LA all checked into our rooms and by 11 or so and ready to get our pre game on. I think we're just going to head to the beach and sip on some drinks before heading over to Staples at around 3:30 or so. What are your plans, hp?

I'm debating on whether or not to go to LA for a potential game 7 and staying there from Tuesday till Sunday.

They could probably fill it for $25 easy, which would be half a million per game. The sales of beer, nuts, etc would cover whatever the cost of operations is, plus more.

I remember back when I was in college, going back to the mid 80's, the Rangers would simulcast away playoff games at the old Felt Forum (now basically the Theater at MSG). I can't remember what they charged but it couldn't have been much. It was totally no-frills. They had the feed up on the big screen and the funniest thing was they just had the live feed from the announcers (Sam and Espo, when I went) and they wouldn't trun off the sound during the commercial breaks, so you would hear all sorts of things. From silly, juvenile comments they would make because they didn't know anyone was listening, to setting up things they would talk about during the next segment.

In the game I remember, Espo was telling Sam that when they came back from break, that he should ask about his first goal in the playoffs and who it was scored against - Espo was going on and on about how you never forget all the details surrounding your first goal in the playoffs (before the commercial break, someone had scored their first goal). So when they come back, Sam starts talking about how special a first goal in the playoffs must be and how you will probably never forget all the details, what kind of shot it was, who passed you the puck, who it was scored against, and then he asks Espo what he remembers about his first goal in the playoffs? Espo deadpans, "How the heck do you expect me to remember something like that? That was over 20 years ago!" It was pretty funny hearing their back and forth during the next commercial break as Espo cracked up about pulling one over on Sam.

Awesome man!!!! Thanks!! How do you like it here in cali? How long you been here? LGRRRR

Born and raised in Westchester county, moved to the west coast for undergrad (Pasadena), moved back to NY for a couple years, and now I'm back in Sherman Oaks since February. LA is my second home, but NY will always be where my heart is. That being said, I love being back.
