Well I got the Horizon Forbidden West bundle, so that. Thinking Warzone, not sure what else.

Recommendations?

What types of games do you typically like?

I loved Returnal but I realize it’s not for everyone. Same with Demons Souls and Elden Ring. And also FF7 Remake and the DLC.

Spider Man and Ghost of Tsushima are both excellent open world games, not sure if you’ve played them yet on PS4 though.

I don’t really play sports games so I can’t recommend any. I’m sure others here can though.

Did you play Horizon Zero Dawn first or are you jumping right into FW?

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Edition for PS5 is terrific and might be the best looking game I’ve ever played. It’s pretty stunning. And the game is incredible. Definitely one of my favorite games ever. I had trouble getting into the first time though because I was burned out on open world games.

Hades is a ton of fun if you haven’t played yet. Really easy to jump into.

Also the release trailer for NHL 23 just came dropped and the big news is you can finally, in the year 2022, play cross-platform so I might actually pick it up this year. World of Chel is a ton of fun.

I did not….just came with the bundle….

New cars… nice. What are you eyeing? I’ll probably in the market in another year or two.
Was a 2022 camaro zl1 1le with about 7400 miles so could still get new car rates on it. Really really did not like the color (rapid blue) but was a good deal. Knew I should have gone out on saturday afternoon to check it out but delayed to sunday and someone snapped it up saturday night.

The 2023 versions jumped up about 3700 bucks but the dealers are marking them up more but it is early on the deliveries for those. The 2023 models just started getting produced in mid June so will probably lay in the weeds a month or two till there is more stock. Did use a guy back in 2017 who has runs a car buying service so you don't have to negotiate to get a good price and shop around though that was for an STI (and he did find me a good deal and put an order in but it was still going to take a few months and ended up with the 2018 camaro 2SS redline).

Thought about just keeping the 2018 Camaro as it is blast to drive and pickup up a used STI and have the best of two worlds but with the big engine ICE cars about to be extinct going big on that feels a bit more appealing.

Wouldn't be opposed going cheaper and going with an SS 1le but I despise the latest SS front end. I'd probably veer more towards the mustang mach 1 premium (with the track package) if I go that route.

Getting excited for my Steam Deck.

Your expected order availability:

@Drake1588 have you used it for anything other than Steam games? I really want to get GamePass up and running on it, so I might do a Windows install.

Yes. I take it to work and use it daily in desktop mode, a Linux kernel, to play videos on MicroSD card in the background. I have also set up a little docking station of sorts at the office, plugging a dongle that takes HDMI, USB 3.0 devices and a power delivery USB-C cable into the USB-C jack of the SteamDeck. I've set up a wireless mouse and keyboard, some with USB 3.0 RF dongles and some using Bluetooth. To get clipgrabbed YouTube mp4 media playback going, all I needed to do was play around with the included software center to install media players, I think VLC and another backup app.

In Linux, I also installed a launcher from the software center called Lutris. It is designed to consolidate and 'simplify' installation of games that you own on other game launchers, like games that you have in your GoG, Epic Games launcher, EA Origin, Ubisoft Connect, and Bethesda libraries, for play on your SteamDeck. Not sure about Rockstar. It includes support for APIs and Wine and such. I have found that it sometimes works and sometimes it does not, though I have not dug too deeply yet to install the necessary API packages to get a lot of the more advanced games to run. I spent an hour trying to get Vulkan going and found the installation was going to take a little more work, for instance, and set that aside to play with some day later. I have found that it works rather nicely with GoG libraries for retro games.

PC Gamer had an article on Lutris a few months ago.

I picked up this cheap stand, and also this dongle for use as a dock. It even adds another SD and MicroSD port for further storage expansion.

Depending on its ultimate features list, I might replace it with a Steam dock once that thing is ready at year's end. It's not clear that it will have even all these features, though. About all it does better is combine the dongle's features with a stand in one package.

It has also occurred to me that I could just use my $35 Raspberry Pi 3B+ as a simple media viewer at the office, and it's far more compact to boot and could stealthily affix to the back of a monitor... and yeah. But when I want to take a break to put in some gaming, it sweats to even run RetroPi. No such challenges for the SteamDeck.

It looks like I actually ended up using this adapter for a jerry-rigged SteamDeck docking station at the office. The first one I grabbed for my Razer laptop instead. This one has fewer features but is 1/3 the price of the other one.
