Their GM has egg all over his face for not feeling out Rantanan's agent before sending Necas out the door for a guy who had no interest in playing for your team. And we think Drury is incompetent!
Actually, Canes had received an indication prior to the trade that he was open to signing. It looks like the agent was blowing smoke, with the intention to get the Avs to up their offer
(FWIW: this is a transition year for the Canes even though the record to-date remains strong....Nikishin's possible arrival in time for the playoffs would be beneficial to their run but realistically this is not their year)

Regardless, Canes fans look at this as a Necas trade (who was projected not to extend) for the 2 1sts (one in 2026 is highly valued due to the quality of the draft; 2028 TBD) and high potential Stankoven with Drury replaced with higher quality in Hall and Jankowski. They still have a young core and with 6 first round picks over the next 4 years, they are nicely positioned to either use some of that for trade capital to immediately bolster the squad or for young assets carrying their run in the 2030's. Canes GM/staff have been adapt in finding good players in the draft so that plays to their strength.

time to take away that Stanley Cup...

:naughty:

I know you’re joking but i actually have zero problem with this.

Athletes are gonna do shit. You’d have to go back a looonnnnggg way to find a roster that is 100% clean.
How does he compare to Mintyukov? Lol @GoAwayPanarin

He doesn’t.

This dudes game bothers me more than his hairline does.
