Have any of you checked out the app WhatNot yet?

It's like ebay meets twitch/youtube.

You basically get to watch and participate in livestreams of auctions. It's mostly nerd/pop culture stuff right now like video games/sports cards/comic books/etc. There are some good deals to be had and it's a pretty slick format.

If anyone decides they want to sign up let me know and i'll send an invite so we each get $10 in credit to use in auctions.

:yo:

5 and RDR2 are very close..both scratch different itches...if gun to head I had to pick..it would be 5..I had it on 4 different systems

Do we have any idea when the PS5 / Xbox Series X shortage will end?

What is the major cause? Pandemic supply line restriction? Resources? Political issues?

That is so f***ed up.
They don't ONLY do drops for people in those programs but this week they pretty much all have been.

I understand it though. I can't hate them too much. It's not like you're paying a price for the ability to buy a console. Like Best Buy has their Total Tech Support which actually was a pretty decent program that I had a few years ago. It offers a ton of discounts for things like hanging TV's and what not but personally just have no need for it. Walmart has their Walmart+ program which is akin to Amazon Prime. GameStop has their Pro program.

Still I think it's about time that these consoles can be sold in store.

I worked at Best Buy for 7 years and still have friends that work there - trust me when I say f*** them lol

And yeah, it shouldn't be still hard to buy these consoles 18 months later.

I think its supply disruption issues for chips. I've seen estimates of supply starting to return to normal by end of Q2 ranging to at late as mid 2023. My electronics suppliers at work have warned me to order early because some stuff could be 15 MONTHS lead time.
There are a lot of new semiconductor fabs either planned or being build in the USA right now and those take years, so it makes me worry it could be even worse than that or if its just protection against China/Taiwan conflict.

This NHL sucks now - basically 21.5 with all of the one timers and L2/LT-ing everywhere. Game was the best it was when Big Tipper and that type of game was at least viable.

I think the hardcore NHL community loved NHL21. I think NHL22 is a step back, personally, and the series lost momentum. Some things feel the same but a lot does not.

The X-factors are a flop. They’re either absurdly cheesy shooting perks, or putting on basic necessities of a hockey player (catching a pass, making a backhand or no look pass, edges) that the series always gave you before. I find hitting too overpowered (hello, “Truculence”), and NHL is always worse when that’s prevalent. It’s also better when passing is better. Nerfing that and shooting rockets instead doesn’t make for a better team experience. Nothing is better than stringing together several passes. Forcing was a little much last year, but it was (rightfully) less merciful to poor body/stick position. Being vaguely there wasn’t being there. One touches also stink this year.

I find the physics more inconsistent and glitchy than ever, and the servers worse. Everyone I know could not stand “Big Tipper” in its original form — it’s just adding massive RNG and less skill, as I see it. I honestly don’t think LT is any different than NHL21.

The servers are awful this year - all 3 of my league games last night had the time reset glitch and some nights it's seemingly impossible to get someone outside of our club into the locker room.

My experience is only 6v6 club and league - I wouldn't classify the league as "hardcore", but I wouldn't say it's trash either from filling in for teams in other league's either. I know though that my team in particular is less "skilled" and relies more on playing together for 2+ years (and some of us are family so it's like 10+ years).

Some of the X-factors are cheesy or should be removed/standard (magnetic), but I like the idea of tradeoffs and pros/cons of a specific build versus everyone essentially being good at everything. Some of the "big" builds were probably over the top at release, but I thought there was a happy medium at least before this patch but more so the patch before that as well. We had two guys who would play a larger PWF build with Unstoppable Force as the main X-Factor and Big Tipper as one of the grey boosts or whatever they're called and they were really the only ones who would get tip ins or deflections. Now though it's basically impossible for them to get anything.

L2/LTing around the ice has been my biggest complaint about this game for years - it's not remotely realistic and I feel like there should be a much bigger penalty to passing accuracy and puck control while you're doing it. I'm not expecting a simulation of NHL hockey, but I feel it's just way to arcade-y.

For me the NHL series got worse since Xbox One/PS4 released. The gameplay felt different in a bad way.

I got this Elden Ring game never having played a Dark Souls or related game before. I just got teleported to some mining place and got stuck and died like 15 times. Then I looked online on how to get out and there's this stupid blood dog thing I'm supposed to kill to get to this gate thing to get out.

Am I supposed to suck this bad? Is this what I get for "going off the beaten path" ?

I’m not a fan of the genre, it’s incredibly difficult and unforgiving. You basically have to die a bunch of times while learning how to beat each section.
