OT: Video Game Talk (oh, also the Week before the All-Star Break Pre-Game Talk "archive")

Oh shit. I haven't heard than name in a long, long time. X play and Attack of the show were fun shows back in the day.
I think Morgan Webb reviewed that game for G4TV, which was pretty hilarious out of all people lol.
G4TV had a couple of can't miss TV shows for a bit.

One of the few cable channels I remember watching back in the day.

The Saudis are putting a soccer player in the next Fatal Fury game.

These guys are basically bankrolling all of professional boxing, professional MMA, and professional wrestling at this point and they choose a soccer guy to guest star in their legendary series of fighting games?

The hell are they thinking? I know Ronaldo is a huge star but they couldn't get Canelo Alvarez? John Cena? The Rock? Anderson Silva?

Someone who either fights or at least plays a fighter on television?

I hope it's Lionel Messi.

I'm just hope who ever it is has an animation where they actually dodge a hit but drop to the ground and start writhing in pain anyways.

Hey guys, by the way I found out that you can play NHL 2024 on PC when signing up for Xbox game pass. I will double check to confirm but I did not know that you can play NHL 2024 on PC. I would love to play it online against a live person or be in the lobby with bunch of people that play NHL 2024. Maybe those are the fake news but I will double check just in case as I only play games on PC.

I think the offerings on game pass are different on Xbox and PC, so even if it's available for Xbox I don't think it's on PC

The price really should have been $399, but the price for games was bound to go up soon. Everyone thought it would be GTA6 setting the new standard, but Nintendo got the jump on it. Hopefully there's enough pushback that it further delays the inevitable, but Nintendo fan boys will always buy anything. Gamefly is almost a must if you want to play new Nintendo games at a decent price, especially since they never go on sale.

Edit: Well gamefly or sailing the high seas.

Looking forward to Indiana Jones coming out on PS5 on April 17.

I don’t really play games other than sports games, but this one has peaked my interest. I liked Uncharted and the first couple of Assassins Creed, seems to be up that ally.

The Switch 2 itself is overpriced. That probably should've been expected given the currenct economic climate. But hiking your game prices by $20 and charging and EXTRA $10 for a plastic box is completely asinine. It also sets a scary precedent for the future of the industry as a whole. The cherry on top was them expecting people to pay for a tech demo that should've been a free pack-in. Nintendo has always been anti-consumer, but this launch really takes the cake.

Considering the sheer financial uncertainty for many people in the States right now, I would not be surprised in the least to see this become the first Nintendo console to go the way of the legendary "five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars" PS3 debacle. Such a shame because the showcase itself was really good for the most part.

Nintendo is really scummy with their game prices. They are almost never on sale and cost a lot. Not to mention you really will be playing on last gen hardware again, but still paying premium prices.

Even the damn switch 2 pro controller is 80 bucks. Everything is sold at a high price.

Going to be funny how the Nintendo fanboys defend it because of course they will.

Can we talk about how BoTW and ToTK have no aliasing and look better on emulators made by fans? The kicker is they're going to charge you for the resolution bump and shitty phone app intergration too. Was not impressed with that showcase at all and I like Mario Kart and will be down for whatever that diet Bloodborne is they showed.

The game rules and absolutely nails the cutscenes feels like the 4th Indiana Jones film we never got. I'll say it's nothing like Uncharted or AC, it's closer to DIshonored which is a series I adore.

Yeah, BotW and TotK looked underwhelming. Still aliasing, no further improvements regarding LOD and textures it seems. As a free upgrade it would have been great. 10€ might be okay. But they are going to charge 25 or more I guess.

Mario Kart and Donkey Kong looked great though. I likely still get it at day 1 anyway. I do not see me buying a lot of games day one for MSRP though.

Last year was the first time I actually wanted to buy a Switch for both myself and when my nephew/niece are over but I decided to wait it out for the Switch 2 and now I see that thing is going to cost $700 for the Mario Kart bundle.

Do it anyways or get a modded OLED Switch instead? That's my dilemma.

I just discovered that Star Wars Galaxies has been community run all these years, and have been sucked in for a weeks now re-living my childhood when I just re-played the 1h trial or whatever there was before you had to subscribe (which I obviously wasn't able to do back then lol). Now I'm actually able to do stuff.
