I broke my ribs like a month ago so decided to buy a PS5. Pretty much the same as PS4 however I should mention the only games I have are PGA, Madden and NHL. I’m sure some of the other games are much improved but I’ve only ever had sports games so I know very little about it.

I used to be an Xbox guy, but I’ve pretty much exclusively gone to the Switch. It’s nice to pick up and play for a bit while watching TV.

I’m sure the graphics lag behind the PS5, and series X, but I like its versatility. Look forward to when they come out with the new Switch.

One of my joycons crapped out a while back and won't charge anymore. I'm not paying the absurd price for a new set so I'm stuck in dock mode (I have the pro controller)

I'll get a PS5 eventually (have a Series X), but there are so few games for either that really scream at you to buy them. Hopefully this is the year to change that. I got my XSX because I simply went into WalMart on release day and they had it in stock. Otherwise I'd probably still be gaming my PS4 Pro and XOX.

That said, I am real curious to try the new Playstation Plus at some point. Gamepass is amazing and I enjoy it immensely on Xbox. I pretty much get it for free at this point, so paying for PSP isn't as appealing yet. When I get a PS5 I will give it a chance.

My Switch still gets as much, if not more use than any other system. My XSX got some extra over the past couple months with the next gen patches of Cyberpunk and Witcher (and High on Life). But I find myself playing my Switch over almost anything else. Easy to pick up and play at a moments notice. A lot of the types of games make it easy to enter and exit. It is a no brainer, but portable makes it so much better to travel with. No more trying to lug around a console to hook up to a hotel TV when you're on a 5 day business trip. I take the Genki dock (though I understand the risk) and a HDMI cable... and I'm pretty much set. Works amazingly. Even in my short two weeks in the Bahamas, with a lot of sightseeing and work time, I completed 3 games in my backlog.

Soon enough Activision and Bethesda will be exclusive sans CoD. That alone is a huge pull.

I've thought about getting the switch for a long, long time. I just don't find myself too intrigued by the Nintendo games...what games do you find yourself playing on your switch that you'd maybe not play on a regular console?

You f***ing plebs disgusts me.

Just buy all 3 of the consoles like your old pal, RockLobster
I'm a PCMR gamer myself.

We're still looking for a PS5 for my wife. She's got a 4 but has been itching to upgrade. Going to check Costco and GameStop after work...again.

I'm Switch and PS5. I use the PS5 for AAA games (e.g. Elden Ring), PS exclusives, and certain graphic-intensive indie games. Switch is used for Nintendo exclusives and all other indies, so like maybe 80% of the time. I don't travel much, but when I do, as Hench mentioned, the Switch is great for the airplane and it's super easy to set up at your place of stay with the dock, an AC adapter, and an HDMI cable.

For Nintendo exclusives, I like Zelda, Fire Emblem, Mario, and Metroid. Also, pretty much every indie game and re-release lands on the Switch (even second-party Microsoft titles like Ori), and the pick-up-and-play aspect is great for things like RPGs, visual novels, and other games where a typical session can be 15-to-60 minutes long and can be accomplished in places like the bed, the toilet, or while having a hockey game on in the background.

I mostly play Nintendo exclusives on it. BotW is one of the greatest games ever made and well worth a couple hundred hours. Even if you don’t think you’d like it, give it a shot. incredible game. There are a few other Nintendo games I’d say are must plays. Outside those, Bayonetta series, Hades, Portal, Dead Cells, Okami, Tunic, Ikaruga, TMNT collection and Shredders Revenge, Katamary Damacy, and Rocket League are all best on the Switch. Maybe not the best graphically, but best because of how you can play the switch. Doom, Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein, and The Witcher are well worth playing on the switch. If they get cross save working between the switch and other Witcher platforms with the 4.0 update… I’ll probably grind out all the side missions I haven’t completed on the switch.

The series I can’t get into but people seemingly love (persona) is apparently great on the system too.

Nintendo was running free fixes for joycons… you might want to check that out.

This is a pretty good recap. I’ve never been big into handhelds prior to the Switch… but probably half my gaming is handheld now. If my wife wants to watch a crappy show I can zone out playing Zelda or the Witcher. If I have 20 minutes, I can pick up Captain Toad and knock out a couple levels. The console excels at eating up time you’d otherwise waste typing here.

Me too! Sadly, at 14 all I had was Pong, as Space Invaders was still 2 years away! (The rest of you: Raise your hand if you have no idea what Space Invaders is. Or Tank Battle. Or Asteroids! God, I'm old!)
There should be a Trivia Pursuit question where you have to name 3 gaming systems that needed to be connected to a TV using a screwdriver in order to play.

Still only have the Nintendo Wii. Fired it up after a couple years to see if it still works and to introduce the toddler to Just Dance. It works.

Seriously considered getting the Atari VCS because I'm a total weirdo when it comes to consoles and computers but opted not to.
