Decent return for an overrated 3C who is a pure rental. Vegas does it again!
Does Vegas have anyone that they drafted in the first round on the roster? insane.
1.29 ppg and on pace for over 50 goals over 82 games…The guy is 20 years old and barely a point and game player in the junior league. Bad trade for St.louis

What's weird about this is the Blues have gotten their price on everybody so it's not a buyer's market where the Blues are concernedWith the exception of a few big fish targets this window sure feels like a buyers market.
Dean is better than a 1st round pick. He’s a prospect that’s a recent 1st who is already developing and having a strong year. Just because you expected to get Kane for Kravatsov and only got a 2026 7th doesn’t mean every other teams trades are bad.I was told that he was going for a 1st round pick?![]()
There’s more to a prospect than points, though. He's producing way less than his teammate Riley Kidney, who was picked in the 2nd round of the same draft, who most Habs fans don't even view as an NHL level prospect
Not really even good at center.Decent return for an overrated 3C who is a pure rental. Vegas does it again!
Kidney had better production in his draft year too so obviously NHL teams don't think that speaks to their talent level. He's producing way less than his teammate Riley Kidney, who was picked in the 2nd round of the same draft, who most Habs fans don't even view as an NHL level prospect
Dean is going to be a very good middle 6 hard to play against type of NHLer.St. Louis might've taken a haircut on this one.
Zach Dean it is. I’m good with that as a Blues fan.
Tell me you don’t follow hockey without telling me you don’t follow hockeyI was told that he was going for a 1st round pick?![]()

I think he’s a guy who turns pro next year and spends 1-3 years really developing in the AHL. Really like this for STLThere’s a lot of questions about Dean translating to the NHL BUT he seems to answer those questions consistently. So who is anyone to doubt him? He was solid at Worlds.
With all their madness, the Knights have actually drafted really well. They didn’t have to give up Cormier or Brisson. Dean hurts their depth but he wasn’t playing in Vegas anytime soon.
The Blues get a lottery ticket in Dean. He’s likely 2-3 years away to really contribute. Could end up a solid NHL player or could end up a lot like Austin Czarnik. Let him develop and see what happens.
