I bet players hang around in their current spot until they see where the chips fall.Forget this cost each team X dollars, how many frequent flyer miles has he collected?

Guessing Vegas cashed in one of the future considerations they got from the HurricanesThe third team had to be higher in the standings as of last year.
Panthers
Bruins
Rangers
Hurricanes
Stars
Jets
Avs
Canucks
"Disruptive Franchise"Freaking love being a fan of the team that wins and creates chaos. It is a fun life.
Yeah this is a solid guess. Avs were missing three wingers the last time a second team claimed Lavoie -- Lehkonen, Landy, and Nuke (plus now Drouin) -- so putting in a claim on Lavoie would have made sense, but then Kahkonen went on waivers this time around and the goalie disaster is a little more dire...and the Avs didn't and don't have the cap room to claim both.My guess is the Avs, when Kahkonen ended up getting waived, they decided to run with 3 goalies instead.
Because they accrue less cap space each day to use at the trade deadline for a top 4D upgrade. As of right now if they ran the current roster for most of the days leading up to the TDL they could add a 4M cap hit or 8M cap hit with 50% retention, and an additional 5.125M in LTIR if Kane isn't expected to play any regular season games.According to PuckPedia the Oilers have over 1M in LTIR relief and a roster spot. Why didn't they just keep him in the pressbox?
