Ok then continue to be the laughing stock of major NA sport leagues. Thats fine too and honestly Bettman seems to have no issue with that. For the playoffs? Yes, that's what happens.
For the regular season? Never happening; the owners want cost certainty, the players don't want to get utterly f***ed on escrow.
Is that the excuse you used for Calgary getting jack shit for Tanav as well?Best offer or lose him for nothing, Hanifin had Conroy over a barrel
Maybe he won't extend in LV and Tampa thinks they can get him in FAI don't understand why Florida or Tampa wouldn’t match that
No Hague, no Brisson, no Edstrom?
Just a 1st and a 3rd and a tweener roster guy for Hanifin retained definitely seems underwhelming…
On the contrary, the response was well worth it.Poor Calgary, getting such a low return on a prime aged asset. You'd almost be tempted to not make that trade at all.
Maybe he won't extend in LV and Tampa thinks they can get him in FA
Hanifin might still sign with Tampa
Vegas probably knows he is not signing there...you'd be surprised how often teams use "we cannot afford him" or he does not want to sign here as leverage when they can
What was the return!? Please help us.
I think its pretty simple. If the NHL salary cap is 83M then the 20 players dressed in an NHL playoff game needs to be 83M or less. It would allow teams to add during the season if they have injuries, but wouldn't allow them to have an unfair advantage come playoffs if a player comes back from injury. They could still put that player into the line up but they'd have to take somebody else out.
Tanev is a player whom has a bad history or injuries, he was never going to fetch a premium. Too much of a risk factor with him.Is that the excuse you used for Calgary getting jack shit for Tanav as well?
You're right I think. This year will most likely be the second time if Stone's back for playoffs.Sounds like a simple “solution”, however I believe we’ve only had one team ice a 20 man playoff roster over the salary cap so far in NHL history.
Tampa in 2020-21 with Kucherov.
