And doing that is easier with CapWages, as you only have 4 numbers to add rather than 20+.

Total for forwards + total for dmen + total for goalies + total for possible LTIR.

In fact, only adding the first three will show that they're under the cap...
I was suggesting adding them all to illustrate that the subtotals are accurate as well.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Vegas is up to shenanigans on the date of his physical.

For example, did they learn he’s on a safari with limited phone/WiFi access and then schedule a physical in two days? Not sure how much notice they’re obligated to provide.

But also wouldn’t be surprised if Vegas made it seem like an optional meeting and then it turned out to be a mandatory physical.
Don't physicals take place on opening day of each team training camp?

Unless you prefer to wear a tin foil hat...

How does everyone know ahead of time that he’s having mental/emotional trauma in a league that reports “upper body injury”?

How does everyone know he’s mentally ill in a league where injuries are reported as upper body injury?

Iceland II the hotter crappier version.
What you conspiracy theorists don't realize is the Knights don't need to "get out of" Lehner's cap hit. Without terminating Lehner they'll have between 4-5m in LTIR space to use. If he gets terminated they'll have ~1m in space as of now, although they would be able to accrue cap to add at the deadline. Either way it's going to be similar numbers. The only thing really at stake here is the actual money Lehner is owed.
Absolutely, honestly I've been reading many comments in this thread like

As a sens fan I still remember the kid Lehner . Guy was quiet came out of Sweden and showed so much promise. The professional athlete lifestyle was too much for him. Turned to drugs and alchohol early on and to be honest I think a lot of it is on the sens for not intervening when this shit was starting but instead just shipping him out and making him someone else’s problem

When its Vegas, its obvious Lehner is in shape and has been told not to show up, so they can terminate his contract. Cap-reasons you know! They`ll pay him in cash, not to play instead. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

What plausible theory do you have for him possibly intentionally forfeiting money?
All more plausible than the VGK conspiracy theories: Crippling anxiety, catatonic depressive state, apathy due to his recent bankruptcy (which means most of the $5M goes straight to his creditors), general ADD-type disorganization or confusion about his obligations

You can't just put a player on LTIR because you want to. They need to be assessed to determine their health.
Nobody who is "healthy enough" is on the LTIR despite what the conspiracy theorists around here will tell you.
Yes and no. A physical is needed to confirm an injury for LTIR status, but each team is allowed to make their own determination of whether their player is fit or unfit to play to that team’s subjective standards.

Certainly there are many players on LTIR who are physically capable of performing the duties of a hockey player.

Sounds like he stepped it back by adding both the NHL and NHPA are looking at the situation

I guess that's better than the alternate headline:

I dont understand why he wouldn't show up. Literally has to see a doctor and then gets five million dollars.

If Chicago could make Hossa's allergy to hockey equipment stick, I think Vegas can can handle Lehner. If his back is good enough to suit up, his mental health clearly isn't...

You mean the life threatening allergy.....

I know some people like to use the phrase, "Head up ass."

But reality is that the head is on the upper half of your body. Thus, mental health as upper body injury is appropriate.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Lehner's mental health stuff include paranoia? I think it goes all the way back to the Buffalo days.

If paranoia is on the list, then perhaps he's completely refused to meet with people due to some sort of fear?

He needs a medical done for LTIR, but I am also pretty sure the medical can be done wherever as long as the league and insurance is OK with who is doing the medical/medical report.

But if he is suffering from mental health issues, why should he be punished?
The thread title says one thing but the article says another.

Check out the source article for a more accurate description of the situation as opposed to the nonsense being thrown around in this thread.

As EF talked about today on 32, he does not need to report to the club for eval

The fact Vegas filed this with the league when we all know his mental health on top of injury.

Getting surgery and taking pain meds is not hood for someone with addiction issues and risk of relapse.

He is in the NHL player assistance program for a reason. Grow a brain and a heart.

He is not actively in the player's assistance program. He has been through it but he's not actively in it.

Saying "grow a brain and a heart" about a millionaire athlete who has earned $35+ million over his career is quite a take.

Conflating the money someone earns with your ability to feel compassion or empathy says more about you than them

And thats not even an insult - plenty of good people happen to make lots of money. What, you befriend a millionaire and they go through issues, youd never feel for them?

The money someone earns doesn't change that theyre a person like you and I
