Paywall. Pronman ranks VGK prospects #26 in league.

This is a good reminder that we are a win now team and if we do sacrifice futures for winning now, it's probably the best move.

Even if he is totally off base and we're twice as good that would put us 13th, a wildcard team expected to be beaten in the first round.

When you see what Anaheim and some of these other teams have coming up, this is definitely our window to win in the next two or three seasons.

Sopalilov is off to a fast start in Saginaw. Matyas GP-5 G-5 A-3 Pt-8 which is tied for 3rd overall and 8th in the OHL in scoring. With his obvious size he still can cover his area. He has deceptive speed and can bury the puck, still just getting acclimated to NA Hockey. Can see him with 40G or so in his D+1.

Neither Chayka nor Cormier dressed for HSK game 1, with Miromanov hurt to start the year and Corcoran starting in the ECHL again. Unbelievable.

I get that they need some depth guys in the hope that they go on another long cup run, but Hayes, Bischoff and Pachal are not their future.

Sapovaliv with GP-7 G-5 A-5 PT-10 still keeping up his hard work. He is on a vastly improved club and has some excellent linemates to develop with the next 2 years. Bloom, Misa, Loukus, Mintyukov, Willis. All 6 are in the top 20 in the league in scoring.

Slow start from Manninen, who are his linemates? I still expect him to smash Janne Personen's finnish AHL record of 82 points (in 70 games) if he stays there most of the season.

Manninen centers Dorofeyev, & Rempal on the top line in Henderson. Good players that is.

Lindbom just had a bad game: he only saved 30 out of 32 in a 4-2 win(8-0 now). Scrub.

His points are shit this far. Bad start or is the team doing badly? His skillset should be a good match.

Or is it the coach?
On season one best goalie in the league, Thompson, made team look good even though they lost shots on goal on most nights. And when Thompson hasn't been saving the team in last two seasons, problems especially to create offence have popped up when they don't win games anymore 2-1 or 3-2 etc. I understand they didn't fire Viveiros during his health problems but now when he seems to be finally in better shape, I would give chance for a new coach.

There have been some questions about Manninen's situation. He is day-to-day injured. Source is HSK commentator B. McCormack who said that information on the pregame show before first of two home games against Eagles.

Not even the VGK would sack a coach after coming back from cancer.

Though this trend of skilled players developing piss poor attitudes and effort in Henderson is worrying. Plus there's no good pipeline to the NHL for a forward, unless you get traded or make the club as a 4th liner.

Hell, why they can't dress both Cormier and Chayka every night and go with 7D is beyond me. First it was Elvenes, then Glass, then Dugan. Now Brisson gets put on the 3rd line while they continue to dress randos like Marino, and put Rondbjerg and Quinney in the top 6 as Cs. I just don't get it. At a certain point, you have to let the more talented prospects work through things with as much ice time as possible.

And who knows how long Mironov will continue to be out.
