Vancouver led the league in points at Christmas, Can they continue this run into the New Year?

I'm sure if the Flames could rack up a win streak or two, they'd be here too!
I don't have a problem with you being here. But when you turn a positive thread about our team into misery with your incessant stats which you all repeat ad infinitum, and with every Canucks win you ramp it up with more and more stats, you guys become like ants at a picnic. The only thing one can do is f*** off somewhere else. I'm sure you just consider that mission accomplished though.

Well, it could regress all the way to 11.5 (which may be hard to do at this point since it's an over 2% drop) but if the Sv% doesn't drop as well, that's still closer to 105 than 100.

Edit: All things being equal, the Canucks would need to shoot around 9.2% from here on out to drop down to 11.5%. There are only 6 teams shooting below 9.2%. The odds of Canucks dropping that low are pretty small.
I'm talking more about what to expect going forward. Their season long shooting percentage will be high, because half the season is baked in already.

I'm talking about being closer to 100 PDO for the next half of the season, or shooting more around 10-11% specifically going forward.

Any Oilers thread has jackjohnson showing up and slinging shit at us.

But you get upset when we bring it back the other way?
Canucks fans were ALL OVER the Oilers are shit threads from early in the season. It’s revisionist history to say otherwise. They slinked back into their holes once we started turning things around.

Nucks fans sure love to dish it out, but they absolutely cannot take even slight criticism.

It's weird how the bashing the Oilers thread got closed as soon as we started winning games.

Seems a little convenient for some posters.

No one here but Jack Johnson is Jack Johnson. You guys all add up to a long list of names.
This is also the mainboards, where we're allowed to come in and voice our opinions.

If you wanted a echochamber about how amazing Vancouver is this year, you have a subforum for that, dont you guys?

I used to work here and I call BS on your insinuation. If it was closed, there was a good reason. It seems you have a victim mentality.

Oh I am well aware of where we are.

It doesn't mean you guys overrunning a thread with negativity is any fun for anyone but yourselves, even if it is within the rules.

It appears to be complicated for you. You asked a question and then apparently unbeknownst to yourself, answered it in the same paragraph.
Holy shit dude. How Is this so difficult for you. You can say any stat is a 'predictive stat' then. Making the word predictive redundant. Like come on man.

Yeah, I'll be honest. Jackjohnson makes it a little hard to be a Canucks fan on these boards.

But judging the Canucks fan base on these boards by the actions of Jackjohnson is like judging a society by the inmates in a maximum security prison.

Lol. Two sides of the same coin.

Notice they essentially all calling out a single poster which #1 is pure flaming/trolling but also shows a premsie to troll intentionally.

“He did it first! So why can’t we do it” :biglaugh:

Think they a little mad that the one Oiler thread got locked pretty quick a few days ago lol
Three in zero you literally post in more oilers threads than any oiler fan. You and that oleksiak guy

Most oilers fans here aren't slinging shit at Canucks or calling them a bad team. They're just trying here trying to teach a couple learning challenged Canucks fans how stats work

Good thing hockey isn't Baseball.

And yea most Oiler fans have been "slinging shit" at the Canucks all season. "Team is going to regress hard" , "The real Canucks are going to show up" , "Oilers are going to trade places in the standing with the Canucks" "They can't sustain their success" "PDO" and more. Honestly my favorite one was the trade spots in the standings.

I personally find the shit talk between the 2 fan bases fun and I partake in it. Like this for example. You guys are 1 injury away from being in the basement and no amount of PDO could save you guys.

I think that goes for any Canadian team that gets an ounce of success in a season

Pretty much. This is the reason why I find the teams I dislike usually have less to do with their actual players and more to do with their fanbases.

Although I'll say I typically don't find Jets fans as annoying. They're used the suffering just as much as we are.

Yeah I thought about that...

The thing is though, we're getting nowhere, neither with the stats argument nor with this fans vs. fans thing. And one of the Oilers fans is right, we do have our home boards we can retreat to, but then they'd have no one left to poke with a stick.

It is important that this main board is open to all opinions. It's the most important thing. That's why I fought for there to be main board GDT's many years ago when there were none. I wanted fans of different teams to be able to interact over regular season games. There just comes a point though where the onslaught of opposing fans wears one thin, particularly when it centres around one subtopic like stats. Is this exclusive to Canucks fans or Oilers fans? No. not even close. It's happened over every rivalry.

What's the solution? That's a personal choice. It's not a perfect world, and it's certainly not a perfect forum where there are easy answers to difficult problems.

Jets fans are just happy to have a team again, they are content.

But I agree on the fan part, it’s a lot less with the actual team and more so the fans

They have almost SEVEN 20% shooters when most teams have 0/1/and maybe 2 teams have two.....It's been a great year for them so far. I do not see it like this next year. It's is impossible to keep doing that.
You say this in almost every post, turn the page already. You have tried to refute the nucks by posting false claims about them and all that you have left is the shooting %.
The thing is tho of those 7 how many contribute on a regular basis? Also does it not stand to reason that the % is high because they are scoring from high danger areas and aren't blindly firing the puck from everywhere like a team like the oilers who get 50 shots and score once or twice.

At some point if this formula stops working as often as it has, I'm confident they can score enough 2nd and 3rd chance goals.

I mean take their last 4 games, how many of the those goals were lucky and how many were skilled?
Yet I saw you doing your whole shtik of them getting 2-3 goals on 10-15 shots and slagging them for it, despite the goals clearly being high-skill.

Biggest problem is people get obviously hot
under the collar and revert to slanging names around instead of trying to stick to topics. You can have discussions without calling out individual posters or reverting to comments aimed at specific posters.

Look for one Canuck fan who has single called out one poster, and then do the same for the other fan base.

It’s easy to see why the threads usually deteriorate, Canuck fans usually sling but never resort to the generalization of single posters
