LA has all the pieces Vancouver needs to jumpstart a rebuild if you are committed to the age gap players instead of pure futures.

Jt Miller
Mikey Dipietro
Vancouver 2022 1st (15/16 overall)
For
Alex Turcotte
Gabriel Vilardi
Rasmus Kupari
Helge Grans
Brock Faber

Two righthanded centers and two righthanded defenders, or unicorns to Canuck fans.

LA keeps their two best prospects in Byfield and Clarke while picking twice in the 1st to maybe target LHDs.

Brock Boeser will have too big salary this summer when LA needs to sign their own free agents.

Vancouver fans dreamed to trade this player to Kings at TDL and it did not materialize.

Nothing changed since.

Jt Miller is too old for Kings and will have too big salary in one year.

Kings can trade Kopitar for him…

I think it all depends how much Boeser actually gets. Everybody speaks of his QO but maybe he accepts a LT deal at a lower AAV. Honestly I have seen way worse proposal than Boeser for 1st + Grans on this board.

I don‘t think a lot of goal scorers like Boeser are available every year.

Edit I see you mention Miller while the OP said Boeser So maybe was edited before I arrived.

No, the proposal was always Boeser and DiPietro for 2022-1st and Grans...........

I would just like to address the QO

Pettersson got 3 years at $7,350,000
Hughes got 6 years at $7,850,000

Boeser's current contract is $5,850,000 for 3 years (on his last year) The last year being $7,500,000, but Boeser's contract was structured that way, because he was progressing, which he has basically stopped, and maintained.
He is certainly a #1 RW, but I would consider him a low #1 RW.

So, in saying that, I see a possibility of a trade and sign, with a deal around $6,500,000 / $6,750,000, which would be a fair contract on a 7 or 8 year deal. I think if he will not do it on a longer deal, and with Pettersson signing his, the money will be slightly less, and in the $6,350,000 area. Again, if he signs under the understanding he is going some place like LA, I think he takes the lower value.

Does, LA (California) have better tax laws that British Columbia? I don't know.

Is the contract range of $6,350,000 to $6,750,000 acceptable to LA fan's ?

Sorry guys, not doing the rebuild for you.

I am not interested in any Vancouver player listed here regardless the return.
Beside that those offers here are simply gross

As a Canuck fan, I agree with you Kurrilino. Take a look at my post directly above. It that palatable?

Just a question here Kinghock

Does a contract in the $6,350,000 to $6,750,000 work? (Depending on length of term)

No, it does not.

Kings need this 6,750,000 for signing their own free agents Kempe, Vilardi, etc.

LA can offer you Iafallo, Walker and second for Boeser, but not their prospects.

I do not believe deal for Boeser is needed by Kings

In 2 years LA is going to lose some promising young players to the waiver wire , if Vancouver wants some of them they can be had cheap ( 3rd round draft picks )

I have a huge problem paying 6+ mill for Boeser

But since the point of the thread is you guys getting a defender, we have to shuffle
a little to make it happen.
One guy like Iafallo or Arvidson has to go the other way to even start talking.

Iafallo/Arvidson + Durzi/Spence/Roy vs Boeser is something i would be comfortable with only under the condition that Boeser is not getting something in the 6 mill range

Boeser’s cap hit for the past 3 seasons was $5.85m and his actual salary this year was $7.5m. His qualifying offer is $7.5m. He’s definitely not signing for anything less than $6m.

So you just ignore the actual offer,

Why does LA do it?

Not wanting boeser is one thing. Thinking he gets anything more than 6.375M is another. That number is 85% of his salary this season. There is no way an arbitrator awards him more than that. So the only way he gets more is if a team is willing to offer him more for a long term contract. I don’t see any team doing that.

IMO he probably takes the 6.375M for 1 or 2 years or signs a 5-8 year deal at 6-6.25M.

Even that would put Boeser out of the Kings reach.
I guess another team would be better suited for a trade

I don’t think it would moreso you aren’t comfortable paying a 50 point winger at his worst and 70 point at his best a couple hundred thousand over 6M.

Looking at capfriendly, the only king up for a more than modest raise if any raise is kempe. Even if he got a 100% raise to 4M, that would leave the kings with just under 17.3M in cap space with 15 players signed. Let’s say boeser eats 6.263M. That leaves the kings with 11M to fill in 4 roster spots and 3 reserve spots to get to a 23 man roster.

As a Canuck fan, I don’t even want to be trading boeser since he’s going to be signed to a very fair market deal that is more likely to be a steal than it is to be a little over paid. I don’t think he will have many seasons as this 50 point player he was this season and will be more around the normal 60 points he averages. So unless he indicates he wants out, the only way I would trade boeser is if it’s for a similar scorer like fiala. Someone who brings speed to the lineup without losing much if any offence. That or we get an offer that we would be stupid to say no to.
