Byram isn't going anywhere. Maybe Petterson but even then, I have concerns with the guy's compete and physicality.

Byram is the totally all round dman, the yin to Makar's yang.

Alex Newhook has been more productive in his first 15 NHL games than Petterson has in his last 23 NHL games. And this is while playing 5 minutes less per game.

everyone’s been more productive than pettersson. Every fan of if every team can now say they have a player our producing pettersson. Including us. We got 7 guys out producing him.

Oh god another Girad trade to Vancouver. Why would Vancouver do this and not trade Horvat for prospects? This trade could have worked before we got OEL, but allocating near 20M for the same type of dman on the left side doesn't make any sense.

A MacKinnon - Pettersson 1-2 punch down the middle would be second to only McDavid - Draisaitl. I think they can afford to downgrade Girard to Rathbone when they have Makar, Bryam, Toews, EJ, Barron.

Vancouver moves a player who as talented as he is seems to want out to a contender which is Colorado. If he’s not happy in Vancouver or with management is he going to turn it around? I don’t know. They improve the D core with a D signed to a great contract and Newhook has high potential top 6c and a needed entry level contract.

it’s unbelievable how much they overate him yet want to trade him. If he was so f in good they wouldn’t put him in trade offers like they are doing. Deep down inside they know his stats are actually inflated because of playing with the avalanche roster.

IF he is such an elite player, why you Avs fans want to trade him? What is the reason you want to trade him for what you call a weak player in Petersson? You don't see Canucks fans trying to trade Hughes so I think there is more to this than just stats. Why not trade Byram or Devon Towes?

It`s not that Avs want to trade him - its the need for a Top6 C/W. Have to give to get. Having Landeskog-MacKinnon-Rantanen is great, but Avs would be better off having more options up front as they saw last playoffs. Avs have Makar, Toews, Byram, Johnson x 2, Murray etc. They can trade a D for help. Kadri is UFA after the season, so preferrable a player that can play C is needed. Doesnt hurt either to upgrade the C-position for playoffs.
Horvat has 1,5yrs left til UFA and girard is signed for 5M until 2027. There is a ton of value in Girards contract.

Not selling low on Pettersson. Especially for a player we don't need and a C who will likely never be anywhere close to Pettersson in terms of value.
