A reasonable price? :shakehead 2.5 cap his for a player who does one thing. He is one of the worst contracts in the League. Maybe the worst.

this is a terrible statement. its completely indefensible and the fact that you would go anywhere near saying a TWO POINT FIVE MILLION dollar contact is the worst shows you have no objectivity left in talking about malhotra and you should know that.

So much pro-Lou raving in here.

I'm a bigger Roberto fan than anyone, and yet I'm kinda surprised that no one mentions that if he lets in a single goal in that shootout, all we are talking about tonight is the fact that YET AGAIN, Lou is laying there on his stomach and we've lost because of it. He manages to stay up like 90% of the rest of the goalies in this league would be, and we win that game in regular time.

And this "score a goal or two and sit back and protect the league" garbage HAS TO STOP. We're not going to make the playoffs playing that way. It has literally come back to bite us every single time we've done it in this short season so far. Just made it by the skin of our teeth tonight. Thank goodness for our excellent checking and defense.

Anyway, those are my thoughts. Still thrilled with the win, and enjoyed the game.... but felt the need to voice that regardless.

Make my day.
Okay I've been angry about this all season. That sopranos extra lets his 13 year old sit in his lap, the kid almost always wears the sweater of the visiting team. I don't even need to mention the earmuffs, that's just weird ****. Whenever this guy doesn't come to the game the seat is invariably occupied by an affliction-wearing waxed hair halfwit. Another example of the worst home crowd in Canada (I said it).

Edit: lonny beat me

Thinking about all the jerseys Earmuffs kid is probably autistic/ Pejorative Slured. No joking, it makes sense.

The biggest reason for the canucks letting teams back in games is the inability to score on the pp and put teams away.

They were involved in the rush because they couldn't move the puck to save their lives. They were horrible at it, just horrible. Slow, inefficient, couldn't get the timing right, made the forwards circle back multiple times, and largely contributed to the fact that zero actual offense was generated with them on the ice. It was most definitely one of their worst games of the year, only comparable to the first two. Major step back over what we saw in LA and Colorado.

Edler barely scrambled at all. Had a very good game defensively and offensively.

Saad beat Edler badly one on one three times in one game!! Ballard and Tanev maybe held on to the puck too long at times but what was the consequence? They did not give up a lot of chances. Edler is a good offensive defenseman, period. Tanev and Ballard are both much better one on one players right now. To put in in perspective Edler got beat tonight one on one more then i have seen Tanev beat in his career.

I think Malhotra gets so much crap for his contract and people not understanding his role

Malhotra is a specialist, he gets a bigger paycheck than most players in his 4th line role because he is the BEST faceoff guy in the league. He is somebody that can be out on the ice in any situation and not be a liability, unlike Marc Choiunard who was our answer to the faceoffs, he couldn't play hockey period.

Malhotra was brought in for the third line when we had nobody respectable anywhere near our line up after the top two lines, he filled the role until he was demoted, maybe he was over paid a million dollars today, but two years ago it was fine. He totally lacks offensive ability.....entirely, but he isn't here for that, it would be pleasant if he could chip in once in a while though

Malhotra might even resign here for 1.5 and I would be down with that

Well that was a very meh game

What did you guys think of Saad?

I thought Kassian looked good for Nucks ,, I was hopeful that trade would not work out for you guys but so far it is looking like both Sabres/Nucks are happy with what they got

For all of you whining about the Canucks PP, look at the Jets PP and you'll be amazed at how much the Canucks PP is better. The Jets have one option and that's to get Byfuglien the puck. And well, Buff is injured. At least the Canucks have a PK. Jets PK is downright awful.

I forgot to PVR whatever else was on after the game (Sportscentre I'd imagine) just in case it went to OT. So had to wait for the highlights. I should know better.

Saad was probably the best Hawk forward after Hossa, from my perspective. Drew two penalties, and was generally dangerous all night long. Showed some slick moves with the puck and some good wheels to go along with his size; I'd say there's good reason to be excited.

Malhotra gets crap because he was signed (and overpaid) to fit AV's mold as a 3rd line center. After his injury he's incapable of fulfulling that role and can barely hold a 4th line job. Sure he's still a very good faceoff guy and a decent PK'er but thats about it...He's far from the worst contract in the league, but at $2.5m he is a very poor value player, even at $1.5m he's not a great value. I like Manny the person, but I won't be upset to see Manny the hockey player move along...I'd like it if he retired and became an assistant here or something.

Yeah...In a 4th line role, Manny is still an asset. He doesn't have what it takes to be the 3rd line guy anymore, and is overpaid for sure, but it's still a luxury to have him there to take those defensive zone faceoffs. He's also still useful on the PK.

This. His role his quite but effective. Not worth $2.5m a year anymore, but to say he's completely useless is incorrect.

Why on earth would we compare ourselves to the jets power play? We have two magicians on the PP and we've had one of the highest ranked power plays for the last few years. Our pp has been unacceptable. I just hope Kesler comes and solves the problems. :handclap:

Saad was a bada$s, and along with Hossa was one of the Hawks' two best forwards on the night. Kid is going to be good.

Anyone else see Kassian jokingly pulling at the back of Luongo's chest pad after the game?

Something tells me this guy is gonna fit into our dressing room vibe fantastically. And not to drag his name into the mud or anything, but much better than Hodgson. That kid was just boring.
