So basically we moved Miller for an expiring UFA D who’s cratered defensively, an AHL D, a middle 6 C with a lengthy concussion history and we gave the 1st round pick we got from Miller in the process. I’ve been saying we should target Drew o Connor but man f*** not like this.

You win some you lose some - we got burnt on those but Heinen's profile suggested there was some untapped potential there.

I actually think Myers on the first pairing is a decent enough placeholder until Willander is ready for top-4 minutes.

I’m just so excited for the team to be able to ice two competent defensive pairings.

His defensive numbers this year have absolutely cratered. If he can bounce back, he can be a good #3.

The trade for Marcus Petterson probably isn't even registered yet but hey, we need another defenseman

I mean...we have three out of four so maybe? I'd say they need to get a Schenn type who can play with Hughes or a legit top 4. The defense has been a massive issue and an offseason blunder so I don't think the comment was unreasonable.

They made a mistake and moved on, yes it would be awesome that every signing they make hits but that’s a crazy high bar.
At least they moved on and didn’t double down.
