As a Canucks fan I'm still not sure how I feel about today and would feel alot better if I knew that our 3rd Petterson will be resigning with us, if not yikes.

So the Canucks turned a #1C into a #4D, #3C and a potential #5-6D.

This is like one of those HF trade proposals where fans offer their spare parts for another team's star player.

Except at least the HF posters of the other team are smart enough to laugh at the offer and reject it.

Lots of fun trades lately. Hope GMs save some for the deadline.

Hard to look at it and smile when you put it that way. And even adding the 4 liner, getting out of VD contract for next year, and a few million in cap space doesn't make it any better. But, when you add in that the 4D could walk at the end of the season and when you look at the lineup card at centre now, it makes it even worse.... Sad day, but he had to go, I do believe. In a couple of years when JT is coaching, we might be glad he moved on- just wish it could have been for more...

Im just glad Miller is gone now… locker room cancer. Now trade Petey next and the drama will all be over. GTFO
nuck been hexed ever since burky had it rolling then traded aucoin for cloutier . i loved that defense/team and hated cloutier, that trade cost nuck the big hardware

We got them to take on Desharnais’s contract and only gave up a first and a long shot prospect. Lmao.

VC handled this as bad as it could be handled and got value commensurate with their handling of the situation.
explain how it was “handled as badly as it could have been handled’

Traded a 32 year old locker room cancer with another 5 years at 8m per for a 2.5C and a 3LD? That's about what people were offering for Pettersson.

They also got rid of two really bad contracts. that would have eaten 4.5m next year.

I mean you can wish for a lot of things but you have to be realistic. This a team on the outside of the playoffs who just gave up their most productive forward. You really think Marcus Pettersson will turn this team into a contender?
They also added Chytil and O'Connor while dumping two mistake signings.
Losing JT sucks but he wasn't a difference maker this year and we are a point out of the playoffs and will likely be a better team going forward with the trades today.
It's not like we lost a guy top 5 in scoring because the owner is a cheap ass.

NMC killed his value, though.

Will the people planning the PP part time possibly ponder playing pettersson, pettersson and pettersson?

Do people really think the Rangers will suck next year? They have too much talent over there. That pick will prob be a mid to late 1st.
The infatuation people have with picks is baffling. First off the chances of this pick being any higher than 14th is slim to none and even if the pick hits it's years away from helping.

Nucks aren't rebuilding so trading that 1st to fill an actual need now was always gonna happen.

Quinn Hughes , Hronek, 3Petey, Willander, DPetey is a pretty great core of youth and talent. (Assuming they resign 3Petey)
That has the potential to be a top tier D-corps in the next couple of years.

I’d be pretty happy with the past few days if I was a Canucks fan.

Marcus Pettersson plays 22 minutes a game in all situations.

Last season he was + 28 and their best overall D.

He trails Karlsson by like 45 seconds per game. Hes not a #4.
