Because he would be your #1centerI wouldn’t even trade Hoglander for Barzal let alone Boeser. Why do the Canucks need a $7m center for their 3rd line?

He's been playing great centering Pearson and Boeser. Maybe watch some games? He did pretty good as a centre last year as well. And has been one of the top FO in the league.

What is the reverse in terms of trades for both teams?
VAN: EP40, Hughes
For
NYI: Nelson, Wilde, Wahlstrom
Eh, Dobson is trending towards being a top pairing defensemen. Woo is still a prospect. It’s not so much the moving Barzal. It’s the fact that the offer was minimal return for the Islanders and the two other players besides Miller don’t stack up to benefit the Islanders in any way except help them blow the team up even more.Exchange Hughes for Woo and I think you're closer.
I see why the Isles fans don't like the original offer. I can't see them wanting to move Barzal for pretty much anything.
Miller, Boeser and Woo for Nelson, Bolduc and Dobson
Miller has been at, or above, a point per game pace over the last 3 seasons including playoffs. His career PPG shouldn’t really be the measure here. Miller has scored at a pace worthy of a legit 1C over the past 3 seasons while providing strong face off skills and other intangibles. He outscored some of the guys you noted, actually.
Now, you have legit concerns on the re-signing requirements, I don’t think I’d want to give him the contract that he’s going to demand, hence why many Canuck fans are willing to trade him.
So in short, this is an awful proposal, but I do think you’re underselling Miller here a bit.
Would Dobson be even remotely available?

Dobson isn't available....He is our only offensive Dmen. Vancouver and Isles don't match up at all.
Not even if someone like OEL or Rathbone was going the other way?
If not, I would have to agree with you. We really just need some good RHD.
No, I rather have Dobson than Rathbone. I think Dobson has real good offensive talent, and he's 6'4 compared to Rathbone being a small 5'11. Dobson has 100 games under his belt, only 24 and really starting to click offensively now.
EP, Boeser + 2022 1st

Barzal, Wahlstrom + 2022 1st
Well of course you’d rather have Dobson, so would I haha. I’m not sure what else could be added to balance it out, I’d even do something around Miller, Rathbone for Dobson+.
I’m a Ranger fan and I approve this message. Was thinking of another team that has been struggling this year who might want to change it up. NYI are in win now mode and a salary cap does exist as well.
VAN: Barzal/Dobson
NYI: Miller/Hoglander/Rathbone
Picks can be added to offset but I think these two can get pieces from one another to help out both. Thoughts on the premise of this trade?
Barzal hometown guy and Miller familiar with playing in NY. Canadians and Americans going to play in their own country.
1 year after this. So 1 1/2 years right now. At 5.25m the guy is worth a crap ton if traded. I'm of the mind he should be dealt in the off season for asset management reasons. Not easily replaced, but we will likely get a high pick this year. How much term is left on his contract?
My god one of the absolute worst takes I've ever seen on this site.I wouldn’t even trade Hoglander for Barzal let alone Boeser. Why do the Canucks need a $7m center for their 3rd line?

Absolutely no from NYI.EP, Boeser + 2022 1st

In what universe is JT Miller a top 1C? None I’m aware of. He’s a good and pretty productive top six forward but that guy isn’t the the category of a Barkov, Taveres, MacKinnon, Eichel and many other legit 1Cs
TJ Miller is a career 0.658 PPG player. He’s real good. But This isn’t a top line C. His own Wiki page isn’t even sure if he’s a LW or C.
JT Miller will hit UFA next offseason when he’s 29.5 years old. Not great when you know that if you give him a 7-8 year deal, the tail end of that contract could really prove problematic. Teams won’t be lining up for the opportunity to trade away big assets to acquire him to then give him a large raise and long term as he exits his prime years.
I like JT Miller but he doesn’t carry anything close to the value you seem to think he’s does based on this proposal.
Exactly this. Miller getting criminally underrated again. He has been around or above PPG the last 3 seasons. He is a heart and soul leader, and yeah…. He plays center.
He also has almost double the points of NYI leading scorer. Hahahah
Get real dude. He probably be their best player
Edit, pretty sure Miller has out scored Barzal the last 3 seasons and is signed to a sweet deal.
Looking like Miller might be the more valuable player as it hasn’t been proven that Barzal can produce like Miller
