This is honestly pretty significant news for Vancouver, this means that demko is going to need some more time most likely, and they wanted more depth for goaltending.

It isn't a lack of trust in Silovs at all it's an acknowledgment that if Demko is injured they need goaltending depth. Plus Silovs isn't waiver eligible so he can freely go up and down all yr and play 40+ games between the two. Plus it takes all the pressure off him to be the savior.

Lankonen would land as Demko’s backup. But even when Demko is back his games played will be managed. So Lankonin will play a lot. Maybe 30-40 starts, even if Demko is healthy.

If Demko is healthy Lankinen wont get that many starts. Silovs is still going to get games. Demko once healthy has to play at least half the games.

They probably told him he has a good chance to even be a starter there because every goalie on the team either sucks or is always injured.

Good one. Demko actually isn't injured, he's been cleared to skate and train for weeks and is ramping up to game speed.

Silovs is gonna be a stud .

Nonsense. He wanted somewhere with a path to more starts or a 1A/1B situation. Nashville had been planning on Askarov possibly being the backup this year and so needed a veteran who was willing to take the risk of being sent to the AHL if Askarov won the backup spot. If Nashville had known in advance that Askarov was going to do what he did, I feel sure Nashville would have signed Lanky

He only signed with Vancouver because there were no other NHL spots available.

Lanky might get 20 while silovs gets 25. I assume Demko will get the rest which might be 30 or 35 depending on when he will play. I assume Demko will return at some point this season.

Demko isn’t healthy though. The likelihood of him playing 50 is quite low. 40 for him is more likely. Once he’s healthy Silovs will be in the minors.
