Crazy how many people are hating on Lankinen. He has been stellar this year. His biggest knock is he is prob a 50-60 game a season goalie. I am fine with this signing.
Never heard of street ho hockey but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued
And yet I look at the Canucks roster today and do not see a contender, which they were last season.Every single transaction this management has made since day one has been brick by brick.
None of the moves have or need to be homeruns.
On paper yeah its crazy it took 3-4 years to upgrade Alex Chiasson to Drew O'Connor..
..but there has been like 18 other small incremental upgrades over this time to the point the entire roster is unrecognizable from Allvin's day one.
Soon to be even moreso with Boeser and Demko likely at their end with us.
Every single part of the JT Miller trade was a small positive. Truly it was a 8 for one deal.
-Chytil was needed.
-Mpetey is a huuuuge upgrade
-O'Connor IS better than Heinen
-Mancini has a role here
-Dumping Desharnais is a plus
-Dumping Heinen is a plus
-Whatever cap flexibility the trade allowed so we can sign Lankinen today
-We danced around a NMC that would have come back later to bite us
Everything about the deal was great for Van even if they didnt get a star top2 center back 1 for 1.

They weren’t a contender last season either. And yet I look at the Canucks roster today and do not see a contender, which they were last season.
That’s A LOT to pay for a career backup. IMO this contract isn’t going to age well unless Demko gets healthy.Well in case you havent noticed ALOT has happened lately. There's no magic wand to piece this all back together. In fact I suspect more destruction is very close.
And we were far from a contender. We had a chance yes. But this is the same team that needed everything to go right to make the playoffs, which it did until Demko in the end.

Na he is broken...I wonder what this means for Demko? Any chance they trade Demko now?
10 and 0 to start the season..has been fantastic..I say it's a great deal..This is nuts!
Lankinen is just an above average NHL backup
Using team stats to evaluate goaltenders always goes well.10 and 0 to start the season..has been fantastic..I say it's a great deal..
Van was stuck with either overpaying to keep Lankonen or go into free agency with an injured Demko so they’d have to sign a guy who isn’t as good as Lankonen for (likely) more. They have Demko signed until July 2026. Gives them time to evaluate him.Holy overpay. What, exactly, has he done to earn it?

Exactly why they singed Kevin, this is most certainly an indication that the Canucks brass are not going to be able to count on Demko like they had hoped. Demko looks washed, his movement in the net looks super compromised, he does not look like he will ever recover from that unusual knee injury.Na he is broken...

It's clear you don't actually watch Demko. His last 3 games he looked a 100% like the old Demko and his movement has been fine for awhile.Exactly why they singed Kevin, this is most certainly an indication that the Canucks brass are not going to be able to count on Demko like they had hoped. Saved our season. We wouldn't be in a wildcard spot without him. Not even close.Holy overpay. What, exactly, has he done to earn it?
You are clueless. Lanks beat the NHL road win recordUgly
