Gotta say, not happy about reading that. Not only does it imply that he isn't in that group that "haven't been playing their best", it also implies a distance between him and the leaders of this team of which he's supposed to be a member.

Take some ownership yourself, kid. If you want to be considered among the best in the world how about you start playing like you are.

we might have some issues in a locker room at the moment. which might be good if the players can solve it without media "interventions". the last thing we need now is a blame game between players via media.

It's a great ideal, but it's not that realistic. It's like saying I'm going to a build a team that will win multiple Cups. If things work out that way, great, but, other stuff happens.

I still find it funny how Lombardi was said to be too married to prospects and picks to get a team over the top when he got the Kings job. Now after winning a couple Cups, he doesn't hold onto enough prospects and picks.

It's a 30 team league, with a cap, and free agency at a younger age than ever. You either have the cake or eat it.

The one thing that Lombardi has shown over his (almost) ten years in LA is his ability to adapt. Like you said, early on he was criticized for hoarding prospects and picks. He was also criticized for not having the nads to make big trades and getting guys like Jeff Halpern and Fredrik Modin. Even if the team were to miss the playoffs this year, I'm don't think DL needs to be fired. I think he'll do some critical thinking and come up with a new plan.

And that's my problem, fire him, then what? Somebody cleans house and starts over? Somebody retools on the fly? I don't see why we can't trust DL to do the same and do any worse that someone who would replace him.

I think the Kings may benefit from registering for this Lil' Kings program. Might boost their confidence in being able to score on a bunch of beginner level kids.
