There was a lot of tinkering around and noises from unwanted presence.

MLSE probably looked into the loss of revenue if they get rid of their championship team members and balked. They do this with the Leafs all the time as well no doubt. If they focused on the doing what it takes to win bit they would probably be more profitable anyways. Treadmill teams suck.

Something like that yes, it also comes with the changing of guards up top and all the other changes that were going on so boundaries were being meshed a lot.

Fortunately after the transfer from TPP, leafs are treated in a different stratosphere but still even then there was a lot of noise going on.

at 1:08:00, Turner & Iguodala discuss refs impact on the game and how its "entertainment" first.

Always have told Raps fans, you need to understand its 8 vs 5 all the time out there and adjust accordingly, otherwise it will end in failure.

Tyty Washington released by the Thunder just a year after being picked in the first round. Didn’t play much last year but put up big numbers in the G-League in limited action. Might be worth a swing to add to the PG depth especially since he’s only 21.

Knicks suing Raptors over ex-employee illegally procuring, disclosing proprietary information | SNY

The Knicks have sued the Toronto Raptors and several members of their organization, including a former Knicks employee, for taking proprietary information, SNY has learned.

A statement from an MSG spokesperson added that the lawsuit was filed after the ex-employee "illegally took thousands of proprietary files with him to his new position" with the Raptors.

"These files include confidential information such as play frequency reports, a prep book for the 2022-23 season, video scouting files and materials and more," according to the statement. "Given the clear violation of our employment agreement, criminal and civil law, we were left no choice but to take this action.”

According to a source, the Knicks reached out to the Raptors and NBA about the issue before filing the lawsuit.

The lawsuit names Ikechukwu Azotam as the former Knicks employee who “illegally procured and disclosed proprietary information” to members of the Raptors, including new head coach Darko Rajakovic and other members of the coaching staff.

The suit alleges that Azotam signed an agreement as a Knicks employee with a "confidentiality clause requiring him to maintain the secrecy of all confidential or proprietary Knicks information."

Per the lawsuit, Azotam, who worked for the Knicks as an assistant video coordinator and then as a director of video/analytics/player development assistant from 2020-23, was recruited to work for the Raptors in or around June of this year. With Rajakovic serving as a first time head coach, the lawsuit claims the Raptors “conspired to use Azotam’s position as a current Knicks insider to funnel proprietary information to the Raptors to help them organize, plan, and structure the new coaching and video operations staff.”

Azotam informed the Knicks of an offer to work for the Raptors in July, at which time he began “secretly forwarding proprietary information from his Knicks email account to his personal Gmail account, which he then shared with the Raptors Defendants. These materials included scouting reports, play frequency reports, a prep book, and a link to third-party licensed software,” the lawsuit reads.

This is a developing story. More to come...

1. The whole league run the same 10-12 plays lol what could the Raptors want from the mediocre Knicks??

2. WTF has happened to this front office? Since the championship it’s gone downhill fast…if this is true I don’t know how our new HC keeps his job. What a cluster f*** this organization is turning into

Another thing

This is a pretty bad look. Of all teams we could steal from we choose the Knicks?

right! No wonder we look like trash lately. We’re trying to copy the f***ing Knicks? Lol dude what is going on with Masai and this whole organization. This is a terrible look for the whole organization. I know the Knicks aren’t asking the league to act but I’m pretty sure they’ll look into it. We can’t afford to lose another 1st round pick

Apparently 270 plays from the Nuggets and a play frequency report on the Mavericks were forwarded in emails. It would be kind of hilarious if our new HC is fired before a game is even played. My question would be why would we need 270 plays from the Nuggets and a play frequency report on the Mavericks? Also 3,000 files apparently were transferred

We couldn't stop the Nuggets if they told us every play they were gonna run.

There is so much wrong with this situation.

1) The employee created all of the content, so unless his contract explicitly said that it became the property of the Knicks, he is transferring his own information.

2) The Knicks for some inexplicable reason didn't revoke his access (I have an easier time believing that the Knicks deliberately left his access in place with the hopes that they could sue than the Raptors would ever have asked an employee to do that).

3) The "stolen" information has limited value because it is old. It is the kind of information that would work well as a teaching package to teach young players the type of info that they should be looking for and what to expect going forward, but the actual content doesn't really help the Raptors.

4) The allegation says that the files have been downloaded 2000 times. Either this is a boldfaced lie (which wouldn't shock me) or the Knicks are suggesting that they have committed a crime because there is no legal way to know this.

Knicks would have to prove the data taken entails intellectual property of some kind. Something that would qualify as their own info and not just downloaded video from a third party source. The form of the plays/clips/etc could highlight the Knicks coaching staff focus on other teams somehow. But there is little info here on the actual data taken.

That aside, Raps management should be asking permission for any of the analyst's prior work. This is not their first time hiring another team's staff so you'd think they 'd be on top of this. Its another black eye for a floundering front office.

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about Harden. I'd gamble on a Harden trade... sure he has baggage, but we need a scorer to take pressure off of Siakam and we're not getting a 1A guy in his prime like Lillard without blowing up our team. Trent, Dick, Achiwa, 1st are pieces I'd move for him.

Barnes, Harden, OG, Siakam, Poeltl is a legit starting 5.

Not in a million years.

I'd offer Boucher, Young, Porter, Achiuwa and Flynn.

Harden to Philly right now has negative value whereas those pieces could have positive value (keeping in mind that some of them would purely be salary matching contracts in this trade and would likely be immediately moved to take on salary that Philly wants).
