Heat don't have much to offer

Lowry or Herro, Duncan Robinson & Nikola Jovic plus picks is the best they can do.

That's not a package to get you a Dame type player.

I know it isnt popular but Barnes, Boucher, Flynn, Porter and Thad match salary wise. All are expiring so Portland gets their salary relief except for Barnes and Flynn and no one is offering anyone better than Barnes. Throw in some protected 1sts and the Raps have a #1 scorer and their new PG.

Lillard/Schroder
Trent/Dick
OG/McDaniels
Siakam/Precious
Poetl/Koloko

Its very unlikely Barnes will ever be as good as Dame and if he is, we are likely at least 3 years out from seeing that and there is no guarantee he stays.

By pure luck, Raps were saved from themselves by the salary cap floor rule change combined with one team desperately needing to spend money when players didn't want to go there.

Make no mistake, Masai wanted him back and that's a problem for this team moving forward. Why? Not acknowledging why the team failed is just bizarre when its obvious Fred was a major component of the weak offense. The fact the team was 18-16 over past 2 seasons when Fred wasn't available tells you EVERYTHING. He didn't move the needle at all.

Its Scottie 3rd year, put the ball in his hands and give him the freedom to lead the offense.

any potential rumoured deals

No. Until this tweet by Grange there hasn't been much on Pascal other than Atlanta trying to get him last week but getting shot down but also just over a week ago it came out that Pascal wanted to remain a Raptor and would not sign an extension with the new team.

If you go back a page, someone had asked about Murray for Siakim. The thing is that is the only way Atlanta can match up salaries that makes sense for them. Add pick(s) on the Atlanta side and that would be their offer

Atlanta doesn't really have a PF and Murray is arguably their backup PG

i think that was before ATL traded John Collins to the Jazz to clear cap but i'm not going to pretend to know how the NBA salary cap works.

Collins is to avoid paying luxury tax. They still need to match within 10 percent because they are over the cap (everyone is today)

If the Raps like Bufkin, he fits an offer (Murray, Okongwu, Gay, Bufkin) and Murray or Bogdanovic has to be in the offer but you could replace one of the players with multiple bottom of the roster pieces (4 for Okongwu or 3 for Gay to replace 8/6M).

I caught a lot of flack on this board when I said DeFrozen wasn't good enough to win with. I said the same about FVV and Siakam. It's only a matter of time before Siakam is someone else's problem too.

One day the China money will run out.

Didnt realize there was hatred for FVV, more like his time here was just simply up.

Don't like the rockets just because of Udoka's shots, so...Individually do great FVV, collectively as a team...I hope they shit the bed under Udoka. :eviltongu

5a5ced0d-kevin-punter-virtus-bologna-partizan-euroleague-950x500.jpeg

One of the biggest moves of the summer so far saw Kevin Punter extending his contract with Partizan Belgrade for two years after rejecting FC Barcelona’s offer. However, there might have been the possibility of seeing the 30-year-old shooting guard debuting in the NBA, joining Vasilije Micic and Sasha Vezenkov in the exile of talents towards the US.

“We were talking with the Raptors really heavily. I thought that was going to be an opportunity. We’ve been speaking with them for a while now, so I thought that was possible I was going to go to Toronto”, he said to Donatas Urbonas of Basket News in the latest episode of the URBONUS podcast with Pinar Karsiyaka’s Errick McCollum as well as guest of the show.

In the end, the former Virtus Bologna and Milano player decided to stay in Serbia and Europe. “It didn’t work out. Obviously, it’s a game of leverage. You can’t give the NBA too much of your leverage because the NBA will take it and run with it. It just didn’t work out. It wasn’t more so the coach thing. Honestly, Europe played a role but it was just the role, ‘Where do you guys see me with your team?’. Do I have to come over before camp? If I have to come over before camp, does that guarantee me a vet minimum? Is it a non-guaranteed [deal]? When we started getting into the fine details like that, I was like ‘You guys want this? Cool”, he added.

“I was just trying to figure out if it was real or not. A lot of times, this NBA situation is not real. They will give you a non-guaranteed [deal] and [say] “If it works out, cool. If it doesn’t, you’re gone.” That situation for me, was real but you have to put your money where your mouth’s at. That’s kind of how that situation went. Back to Europe, we go”, Kevin Punter said ahead of his 8th overseas season after averaging 16.1 points with 49.1% from two, 44.3% from three, and 91.7% at the line with the black-and-white team in the 2022-23 EuroLeague, as well as winning the ABA League against Crvena Zvezda.

That Kevin Punter option is pretty interesting. seems like he's not quite the real deal, but It brings back memories of Anthony Parker who was a euroleague MVP and was brought in by Colangelo. He was a massive part of the Raptors turn around during those years. I loved that guy.
