Raptors president Masai Ujiri said he's incredibly happy with where the team's roster is at right now amid reports that superstar Kevin Durant is on the trade block and Toronto is in the mix.

Ujiri was in Ottawa on Friday for the unveiling of an art installation he helped create that was inspired by Nelson Mandela. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was among those in attendance.

Although Ujiri understandably declined to speak on the Durant situation specifically, he was quick to praise the current lineup as he was heading to Las Vegas for Summer League.

"I'm so excited to see all of our players who will be there, our young players who will be playing in the Summer League," Ujiri told CityNews. "I know one thing: We're going to win in Toronto and we're going to continue to grow. I'm super confident about that."

"I know with all the talks, I'm incredibly happy with where our team is and how we continue to grow."

Also asked Masai about Kevin Durant and the Raptors. He obviously didn’t want to give any hints

Ujiri and general manager Bobby Webster have been busy already this off-season re-signing Thad Young and Chris Boucher and adding free agent Otto Porter Jr. to the mix.

..................

As the rumour mill continues to swirl, Ujiri's main priority remains the internal growth of the team.

"We'll keep looking out there to see how we can make our team better but our internal growth is what's most important to us," Ujiri said. "... I think seeing with the growth of all of these young players, I'm happy with that and we'll keep growing."

Spurs Rebuilding

With the Spurs trading Derrick White to the Boston Celtics before the February trade deadline and now Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks, the franchise is believed to be fully committed to rebuilding.

Teams consider veterans like Jakob Poeltl, Doug McDermott and Josh Richardson to be available. Westbrook wouldn't appeal to the Spurs and would presumably take a buyout, presumably for at least the minimum he could get with another franchise (nearly $3 million). With McDermott out and a Westbrook buyout, the Spurs would only add an approximate net of $16.7 million—essentially to buy a future first from the Lakers.

That could expand to include both Richardson and McDermott to Los Angeles, provided L.A. included either Kendrick Nunn or Talen Horton Tucker. The Lakers would have more interest in Richardson than McDermott.

The Toronto Raptors are believed to have the capacity to construct a package for Kevin Durant that would satisfy the Brooklyn Nets, but they remain unwilling to trade Scottie Barnes.

"Scottie Barnes continues to be a non-starter for the Raptors in any Kevin Durant discussion," said Adrian Wojnarowski on the NBA Today. "There certainly has been no progress there with Toronto."

The Raptors could possibly build a trade package for Durant around Pascal Siakam or OG Anunoby while also sending future draft compensation.

Barnes was the fourth overall pick in the 2021 draft and won Rookie of the Year.

Haha, an offer sheet, awesome! The NBA off-season is so much more entertaining than the NHL's, not even close.
When it relates to KD, this pretty much takes out the Suns. Ayton was their main chip. If they match, they can't trade him for 6 months. If they let him go, well they lost him for nothing.
