Barnes was such an unbelievable pick.

Most everyone wanted Suggs which was the standard play but Masai goes against the grain and made the right selection.

Saw this posted on another forum

Imagine if we had been healthy for most of the season. We could have been challenging for one of the top seeds right now.

I was pissed. No shame in admitting i was totally wrong about that
I was cheesed for 30 seconds and then I remembered that Masai is our daddy and if he doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt, then no front office in any league does.

Nice of Barnes to prove me wrong. I wasn't happy with the pick but at the same time, I still said trust Masai and he was right again.
Also Siakam what a turn around

lol i love me some danny green and appreciate his time here, but he was pretty damn poor most of that post season, he had a couple decent games, but not much else if im being honest. saying he was just as important as kawhi during our run to the chip is absolute madness lol.

also, gimme philly in the 1st round plz. harden might actually be washed and it couldnt happen to a nicer dude lol. and embiid has raps nightmares, this is a shell of the team we faced in 2019.

Evan Mobley will win ROTY, but Barnes is unbelievable and so glad we took him over Suggs.

Reading the posts on the Sixers board on RealGM are amusing - they absolutely want no part of us in the first round lol

Would be real disappointing if voters use team strength as an excuse for why Mobley > Barnes, especially when the Raps were generally expected by media to miss the playoffs. Overall value is fairly similar but edge goes to Barnes on advanced metrics (and nobody in the class is close to them). One could suggest having an all-nba Siakam and all-star FVV puts pressure off Barnes, or you can flip the script and say Barnes’ IQ both on and off the ball elevates his teammates. Cavs on the other hand aren’t just missing Mobley, but they were struggling the moment Allen was lost too.

why do you say it as if its a forgone conclusion? i dont believe that for a second. what scottie has done is impossible to ignore...even steven a smith said hes voting for scottie(that alone gives me hope he can win, as he should)

I think it's Cade Cunningham taking the award.

Yup, hoping for Philly right now. Much better option than the Bucks or Celtics.
Totally agree. PHI is our best option and Bucks and the Celtics are the worst. It's looking like may end up with the ideal path to the final - avoid MIL/BOS until the 3rd round.

I don't how this is a sure thing at all. I actually had a peek at the odds now and then and Barnes has gone from a 7-1 long shot a few weeks ago to less than 3-1 today. Mobley's injured, sucks for him but helps Barnes for sure.
