Latest Trade Buzz on Ben Simmons, Bradley Beal And...Shai Gilgeous-Alexander? | Bleacher Report

And the next All-Star-caliber player team personnel currently eye as available: Oklahoma City point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who's suddenly eligible to sign a projected five-year, $168 million rookie scale extension this summer. It would appear, however, any interested team would need to meet the Thunder's significant asking price. "It's going to take a f--king lot to get him, but he's no longer impossible to get," said one team executive.

That would present a categorical change in the Thunder's approach to Gilgeous-Alexander from ahead of the 2020 draft last August, sources said, when all four teams selecting within the first four picks contacted OKC about the 23-year-old and were quickly rebuffed by Thunder officials.

Flashing forward to this summer, where Oklahoma City proactively called Detroit to offer Gilgeous-Alexander plus the No. 6 pick for No. 1, sources said, in an attempt to land Cade Cunningham—the framework B/R's Jonathan Wasserman first alluded to on Monday. Since drawing the top selection in June, Detroit has consistently messaged to rival teams it would need a first in this year's draft, future draft ammo and an established young star.

There's still a strong expectation that OKC will search for avenues to move up in the first round, with a swap centered on the Thunder sending pick Nos. 16 and 18 to Charlotte for No. 11 as a deal structure to monitor, sources said. There's a sense among team officials that Oklahoma City and Toronto are exploring options on swapping the No. 4 and No. 6 picks as well.

Looks like we are one of the likely spots for Simmonds. I'm not a fan but if there is one developmental team that can make him shoot, it's ours.

Moore: Latest on Simmons & Lowry, NBA Free Agency & Draft - Action Network

Multiple sources confirmed Sunday that the Toronto Raptors have emerged as a team with “significant” interest in Simmons. One source close to talks said discussions have not been substantial as of yet. Multiple sources including those close to talks said a proposed framework including Raptors guards Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, and the 4th overall pick in Thursday’s draft for Simmons was rejected by Toronto.

Lol, I would hope so, that’s nuts. I would have trouble trading just the pick for Simmonds

I have to move off our Jr GM of the Leafs Dubas to something more plausible in a Raptors front office. So I read some rumors here and thru realgm but its still quiet. I guess we have to wait.

Not worth it if a user brings up another team on this one.

I’m hoping we do not take Barnes. The last thing we need is a player who can’t shoot consistently. Suggs would be the smart choice and the one they’ll select. He has leader written all over him and fits the defensive mold the Raptors are known for. He had a great tournament for Gonzaga except for the last game where the entire team was shell-shocked.

Today could be awesome fun for the Raps.
I’m hoping that Siakam to GSW talk resumes….sounded pretty intriguing to me.
I’m perfectly happy with Suggs. Lowry 2.0, in time. That’d be a good add.

Finally some real excitement for a Raptors Draft. It's been too long.

We seem to never be too active draft days, usually jumping on great camp invites.

I'm HYPED up, if Suggs is on the board at 4, he better be a Raptor!

Crazy talent in the second round too!

Suggs should and will be a Raptor. Only way he is not is if someone unforeseen drops from the top 3 projected. But I do not see them reaching outside of the 4 top projected picks.

Can he live with the pressure of being the highest Raps pick since Bargnani? Big shoes to fill. :sarcasm:

Oh he's solid no doubt.........I'm just saying all things considered if the Raps had their chance they would take Mobley and Green ahead of him given the option to.
mobley ye for sure, he has the opportunity in a redraft 5 years from now to be the guy that got away from the top 1 or 2 teams, hes a freak in the best way and MU has always had a thing for that type of player that can guard multiple positions and that are so athletically gifted. as for green, whiles hes going to be the best scorer of the bunch coming in i think hes got some issues as well. he does fit a need too since we need a #1 scoring option still, but i also think hes the most likely to have the least "impact" in games. just my outlook though. i think suggs could be the most impactful player if all 3 ceilings arent hit.

Woj is saying Pistons will take Cunningham if they don't trade the 1st pick. Trade offers are still coming.
