Good job winning this in regulation. That means Laval moves 7 pts ahead of Utica. Initially, Utica had 3 games in hand all the time. Now they just have 1 game in hand.

They are also tied at 42 pts with the Amerks and 3rd place. However, Rochester has a game in hand.

Out of town results:

- Toronto lost 7-5 to Cleveland, so Laval moves 4 pts ahead of the Marlies. Toronto has 2 games in hand.
- Bellevile currently down 3-1 in the 2nd to Milwaukee. If Baby Sens end up losing in regulation, Laval moves 2 pts ahead of them.

Incredible turnaround. Houle said the season would start rough with the young kids and new vets.
Too me the turnaround started with the signing of Kaskisuo. Xhekaj helped as well.

Mailloux tends to still make me really nervous when he has to do more than the very basic plays on defense, but to his credit he's a lot more in control and disciplined with his positioning now than when the season started. He cut down on the turnovers and the weird decisions too, he used to have at least 3 or 4 head scratchers a game and it's 1 or 2 now, which is a lot more manageable.

Considering Mailloux has barely played the past few seasons and seeing him improve so quickly you have to wonder what his upside truly is....
A reminder that a player with insufficient or limited games played can easily be misjudged.

Who knows what his ceiling will be now that we’re seeing him get his reps.

Only one thing — he should either avoid fighting or he should learn how to defend himself as he’s going to get challenged and he hasn’t looked good doing it. He should learn even just to protect himself and avert the risk of injury.

I find that he is using his stick much better as well
