Maybe. I think Condors or Mammoth get my vote, but I prefer Mammoth just because of the Ice Age connotations and themes. Interesting that the other poster said Bakersfield doesn't even want the Condors name though.
Condors isn't happening, same reasoning because the name already exists..... posters have forgotten as well there's a double meaning to Vegas as well because isn't Golden Knights also the US Military Academy's parachute team, hence why it simply wasn't Knights outright which is also the legal name of the ownership Black Knight Sports

Just call them the Utah Jeti's

I don't know why you quoted me, I didn't suggest Condors at all.

Utah Outlaws is the way to go in my opinion.

I know it's too complex for a logo design, and the colors aren't right, but the name has a good sound to it, so many options for a cool logo, plus has some historical significance to that region of the country.

then why are u referencing them when the name already exists and is trademarked already because Condor is native to California hence California Condor
Because someone else suggested it first, and I replied to them saying "it sounds okay." You new here?

In the context of talking about NHL teams, who would confuse the Las Vegas Knights with the London (Ontario) Knights to the extent where the Vegas Knights need to become the Golden Knights?

There once was two difference sports teams in St Louis and both were named the Cardinals.

There are 47 college teams that are called the Tigers (exaggerating slightly).

And before you say that’s the US, remember that the Canadian Football league once had around 10 teams and two of them were named Rough Riders.
I think Golden Knights works. They’re in Vegas, so there’s going to be some glitz. And they’ve done an awesome job at creating one of the more unique, good uniform designs in the NHL by incorporating the gold.

Utah Miners or Utah Gold Miners
I’m sorry, but you cannot have a team called the Miners in a league where there is already a team called the Predators. I don’t care how it’s spelt.

Didn’t LV owner originally want to go with Black Knights as the team name, but that’s Army’s football team?

There's already a motorcycle club and a band called the Outlaws. I wouldn't want to piss off the former.

I always felt Yetis was too close to the Avs branding anyways... But funny they'd go with the Yeti cooler brand instead. Maybe they should've denied Yeti to use Yeti since the Avs had a monopoly with Howler? Hah.

When I saw the thread title, that’s where I thought his was going.

Utah Outlaws. Go with a western theme with some steampunk thrown in.
Denver Outlaws is a pro lacrosse team that’s been around for 20+ years and is in the same general part of the country, doubt they would be cool with that.

Also, would be surprised if “Outlaws” branding would play well in Utah given the demographics there

They can't. Read the article.
They can trademark Utah Outlaws or Utah Mammoth, but not Utah Hockey Club? The Utah part doesn't get trademarked it's just Outlaws or Mammoth etc? so it would be just Hockey Club? and that's stupid obviously, am i getting this right?

They will have to figure out something. Worst case, you still roll with Utah HC until you find the right now and secure the trademark. I think Wash Commanders don't own the trademark for their team name either, which just is another black mark from Dan Synder's owernship. Rolled with WFT for 2 seasons and still couldn't get the name taken care of in terms of selecting own where they have the trademark.

The Commanders trademark application was approved in September 2023.
