They better bite the bullet and scrap the name and theme of Yeti. Not sure how much money was spent already but Yeti itself is already a tough sell, nothing like the Utah (Blank) Yeti(s) will sound awful.

They could give a middle finger to the Yeti company and become the Utah Coolers lol
I actually liked Utah Yeti, mostly because it was the best of a bunch of other terrible names.

But the worst would actually be Utah Hockey Club. Huge cop out. Pick a name and commit.

The funny part is those those two dual name teams played in the same city as their counterparts for decades. You had the NY Giants (Baseball) and NY Giants (Football) for years and then the St Louis Cardinals (NFL) and St Louis Cardinals (MLB) for many years as well. In both cases, the baseball team superseded the football.
The Cardinals NFL team actually relocated from Chicago to St. Louis.

I prefer UHC at this point.

Old school sounding, english footy vibes without being cheesy or overly contrived like say "Real Salt Lake" where the desperation to sound like an EU football team made zero sense...

UHC is a god name

They shouldve just made a partnership and had the Yeti logo on their jerseys/helmets and sold their merch in the stadium, slapped the team logo on Yeti tumblers and had a Utah merch line. Wouldve been a perfect match.

Yes, because the area has such a proud history of sports teams with local ties, like the Utah Jazz celebrating the long and rich history of Jazz music in Salt Lake City.
Well then call them the Utah Voodoo or the Utah Soul.

I was looking up things Utah is famous for, trying to think of a cool name. I am thinking something that coincides with the natural beauty of the area.
I was surprised to learn that Utah is or was the gayest city in America. I never would have guessed, I assumed it was and is San Fransico

So it’s down to Mammoth or Outlaws unless they can successfully appeal the rejection? Mammoth is bad. Outlaws is kind of generic and doesn’t really fit, but would be ok
IMO marauders may be a cooler option

Call them the Big Horns

Utah Outlaws is better anyway
Salt Lake City Six-Shooters...

I'm not even sold on the name Yeti, but I think this is so stupid

Who's going to "confuse" a professional sports team with a cooler?

Nobody goes to a Denver Nuggets game and gets confused that it's not a McDonald's convention.
No one is struggling to differentiate the LA Galaxy from a Samsung Galaxy.

Hell, we have Jets-Jets, Rangers-Rangers, Kings-Kings, Panthers-Panthers, Giants-Giants, and Cardinals-Cardinals and we seem to get by fine

They cover completely different markets.

In the context of talking about NHL teams, who would confuse the Las Vegas Knights with the London (Ontario) Knights to the extent where the Vegas Knights need to become the Golden Knights?

There once was two difference sports teams in St Louis and both were named the Cardinals.

There are 47 college teams that are called the Tigers (exaggerating slightly).

And before you say that’s the US, remember that the Canadian Football league once had around 10 teams and two of them were named Rough Riders.

That's exactly why I think it's garbage. Especially because every soccer team has that generic ass name, but then usually has some kind of goofy ass nickname anyways. Don't soccer my hockey.
