Talladega nights is a good one I just discovered after not watching for a while. I think most American comedies try too hard to offend with dumb shit or poop jokes and profanity. Lot of them love dick jokes too like step brothers when he puts his balls on the drum set. They want to shock you rather than make you laugh.

America mostly just does rom-coms and they all follow the same predictable and unfunny formula

This probably isn't true because I think I said at the time it was clearly a rip off of a scene from Kevin and Perry Go Large

Inbetweeners 2 wasn't that funny compared to the first movie and the normal series

I think I said to @Sega Dreamcast that the biggest difference between American and British comedy, is that Americans like a feel-good story where the main comical character becomes an unlikely hero and/or always gets the girl in the end but has a wacky adventure along the way. Which is why rom coms are so popular

In a British comedy series the main character always ends up in a worse position than where they started and we like it because we're cynical and it's realistic and relatable

Talladega Nights is legitimately hilarious

Satirizes the NASCAR and Southern Alabama culture well like the Top Gear special

Seth Rogan also had some other pretty low brow comedies like The Interview when he goes to North Korea (and provoked a NK cyber attack IRL) as well as dumb shit like Neighbors when he lives next to a sorority house and declares war on them

It's so stupid

Just be funny

yeah American comedy just wants to shock you

That is why Talladega Nights was so good it didn't rely on profanity to make you laugh. Although Ferrell acting like a man child can be a bit annoying
