Useless Thread MDCCXCIII: Nothing to see here

The first one is good and could probably be loosely considered a "classic" of our time (most everyone has seen it and enjoyed it but not as much as other franchises like Harry Potter or LOTR). The second one was fine. The third one was bad. I didn't see any after that but apparently they're even worse.

It's only the success of the first two that actually made the rest any money

I can totally see why they were so popular, as Johnny Depp is the perfect casting for Jack Sparrow.

The first one was entertaining, but I'm not too fond of the slight family-friendly dullness to it, where you know they aren't going to push the limits or do anything too over-the-top or shocking.

That's more than I paid for my cheapo multimeter, but even a Fluke could be bought for like $100-150 and I'm sure it comes with some leads

If you ever wanted to do any kind of electrical work, like replacing a light switch or outlet, you would want one to verify the power is turned off.

The circuit breaker for my house has labels missing on like half the breakers.

It would take a little busy work to relabel them, but it's easier to just turn a bunch off at once then go check if the power is off where I want it

The thing is they unintentionally made Jack Sparrow a meme when he was just meant to be a supporting character/wacky sidekick for Orlando Bloom who was supposed to be the star along with Kiera Knightley, then they became self-aware and tried a bit too hard to centre everything around him. See: the bit in the third one when they're like "what's better than one Jack Sparrow? MULTIPLE JACK SPARROWS!" and all the times they make him do the silly run.

Speaking of silly, I'm watching the Netflix documentary about the Mormon bombings, and there's a ridiculous recreation of the fat guy and his mate tearing about in the Toyota MR2 and shooting an Uzi thinking they're all badass

Also thinking an 80s square MR2 is this really trendy desirable sports car that he wants to "push that thing as fast as it would go" is so American

We make girls play ladylike team sports such as netball and field hockey in school

I think women's soccer was literally actually banned in England until the 60s
