We're 12 minutes into the movie and I have no idea what you're talking about.
I guess the codex is the weird skull that got infused into Superman. No explanation what it was or what that did.
How is that weird skull going to save the planet? Also not explained.
I can make a guess (which I shouldn't have to do for a movie like this), the weird skull thing was being used to create babies. Doesn't explain what infusing the skull into Superman did, so I can only assume that gave him his powers.
And none of that explains why the skull was needed for Krypton's survival.

Bus blows a tire, driver loses control and starts swerving all over the road, before they crash off of a bridge. Sounds like bullshit to me.
Oh, what do you know, a bus losing a tire doesn't result in complete loss of control.
How hard is it to just have a scene that makes sense? If you want the bus to crash off the bridge, write the scene so there are circumstances where a bus might actually crash.
