8 bay NAS enclosure, so it wasn't cheap.

Right out of the box, I noticed it was missing a foot. Okay, maybe it fell off, let me check the box.

Search the box, the only thing in there is the manual.

No screws, no motherboard standoffs, and most importantly, NO KEYS.

Yeah, Amazon, thanks for sending me broken shit that I have to waste time returning.

This one article has convinced me that hot swap bays aren't that useful. Like when am I ever going to remove or install a disk, yet alone many times that would necessitate the hot swap bays.

If space isn’t at a premium, you can find plenty of ATX tower cases that will hold 8 or more drives for well under $100. Most of the nice cases with hot-swap bays are closer to $300.

Okay, if they're so abundant, please direct me to all of ATX towers that can hold 8 disks.

Go on Newegg, go to Computer Cases, filter by at least 8 Internal 3.5" Drive Bays.

Most of these cases have optional extra drive mounts. A case being theoretically capable of holding 10 disks is not the same as the case being able to hold 10 disks. Yeah and good luck ever finding those optional parts for purchase, lol.

Even then, just because a case can hold 10 disks doesn't mean you would actually want to put 10 disks in there. Install these optional parts and watch your cooling go to shit is likely.
