- stupid HUT mode

- flawed defenseman logic

- flawed glitch goals that you can use to get goals 100% of the time

- terrible AI that doesn't put themselves in proper position

- terrible goalies in EASHL (cpu controlled)

- the same laggy ass screens during Franchise mode while simulating through a season

= subpar graphics

Let's not forget that EA signed an exclusivity agreement with the NFL right after Madden 05 got completely shown up by NFL 2k5.

You'll never guess what happened to the Madden series when faced with no competition...

There also hasn't been a competing NHL game since 2k8

Many of those glitches that I witnessed first hand at launch were fixed almost immediately

every time I Would run the game it would download like 3 gigs of patches at launch to fix them all

It's not impossible that both the NHL and Madden series are poorly made.

In fact, I think the same company develops both series.

The only EA game to criticize is NHL. NHL is terrible. Nobody should be playing Chel.

That being said EASHL is fun in theory

they just don't want to add anything new, they talked about how progressive it was to add crowds and build your own arenas but you have been able to do that since 18 when the last HF Lounge EASHL team played

EASHL was fun as hell back in NHL 14, I think.

You had to grind a lot to build your character up, but the 6 vs 6 drop-in games were the best

This year they added face of the franchise (they added something similar last year which was "Longshot" IIRC) and you basically play college football for a few games before going into the NFL to get drafted. Now, the college football and HS games you played were all on rookie (couldn't find setting to raise difficulty) so every game was like a 90-14 blowout lol

Yeah they talked up the decision making in the previews and I ran a FoTF mode with it. Basically you have to pick between dialogue lines and it will affect your draft status and attributes
