as @The Crypto Gal pointed out, a lot of the more rural/less expensive areas have huge property taxes associated with them, so there's kind of a wash in the property cost.

Currently, my house i'm in now cost 352k. We financed around 280k. My mortgage with all the insurance+tax+interest rolled in is $1709 per month. I think our rate is something like 3.8%.

Next house might get a lower rate, but we'll probably spend more. Targeting something under $2100/mo

we're going back to it, so likely going to be closer to 500k this time.
