Night time mowing 😹

Yeah, around 7-7:30, before the sun sets

@PanthersPens62 @Sega Dreamcast I've got some pretty angry thoughts on your nuanced party but I will hold back...for now...

Got to be careful, likely ticks. Keep an eye out if a "bullseye" pattern develops, classic Lyme onset symptom.

I'm not noticing a bullseye pattern. However, they are warm to the touch, which makes me think they're infected.

It was weird, it happened Monday night, but didn't start hurting until yesterday afternoon. I went to stand up from the couch, and the pain flared up out of nowhere.

Hopefully by the end of the year it will all be over and you can stop hearing me bitch about how f***ing moronic it is on every level.

Had my first meeting with the guys from FastTrack today. Mind you, we applied on April 22nd, so it took 6 weeks to setup the first meeting. They were really pumped about our progress and liked the architecture, but identified 6 points where they claim "improvement possibilities", and will setup subsequent meetings for each of those 6 topics for a deep dive session. This program is pretty cool, but it's going to take forever to get through that many meetings with senior devs on both sides. I'm supposed to be launching a beta platform at the end of the quarter, 2 weeks away. I don't even understand how this is all supposed to work in parallel, lmao.

All I can do at this point is just keep my head down. I've applied elsewhere here and there but haven't found a good fit - much less gotten a new offer. I'm also horrified of doing anything right now with what is clearly a full-scale recession on the horizon. I don't want to lose my "tenured" security.
I see where you're coming from but I don't know how much job security either of us really have in the tech world? We gotta get that money while the getting's good. Since you're entirely WFH you could entertain moving to a lower cost-of-living area if it ever came to that, though I completely understand if you'd not want to entertain that. Plus you're a father now, so priorities and responsibilities are quite different. Man, we should have imported Skyline GTR's or something when they were cheap...

I'm changing jobs into a brand-new company, so I'm going to plan out all the cloud infrastructure and shit; in fact, I'm currently doing it right now. I need to get into management soon and a company starting from the ground-up is the way to go for that, so I definitely made the right decision. I'm giving up GODLIKE health insurance so we'll be on COBRA for a while but the salary increase was so large that it more than made up for that cost.

We also have some $$$ burning a hole in our bank account right now and I'm thinking to wait on buying some stock, or maybe just buying a little bit, because we also feel shit is going to hit the fan. I want to be in position to retire within 10 years and we're definitely not there yet until the house is paid off and I have a lot more than what we currently have even though we're saving aggressively. Property taxes are fairly reasonable here but many other cost-of-living indices are quite high.

EDIT: just did the calculation, we need more monies.

I will refrain from saying anything except that you might regret what you just said.

Why do you cheer for Hamilton? Aren't you from Florida? I don't know the connection between the two locations.
LOL! You would think he is from Florida considering his obsession's with Miami & now the Lightning. Hint: Look up the word "bandwagon" on a dictionary and you will see a picture of Mr. Price!
