The thing is, for most people (maybe not you), while you can say they mutually exclusive to how fun a game can be gameplay wise, they're not mutually exclusive to how enjoyable a gaming experience can be. "Eye candyness" is a thing.

It doesn't mean games have to have photorealistic graphics though. Zelda, Genshin, Tales of Arise, etc. all have amazing graphics. Several 2D platformers also very enjoyable graphics. Even "pixel art" still exists.

I'm just arguing against Ix shitting on games that opted for unique art styles rather than cutting edge graphics.

My point was that great graphics don't necessarily mean the game is going to be great, in the same way that bad graphics don't necessarily mean the game is bad.

Sure, great graphics can elevate a game to another level, but they aren't going to fix flaws in the game nor will they make the game play or control better.

Was ready to f***ing murder someone on my drive home.

I'm not sure who I hate more: the assholes who get in the turn lane for the explicit purpose of passing people, or the dipshits that enable their behavior by always letting them in.

If anyone says zipper merge, I will bitch slap you, because that's not a zipper merge

Some of the best games ever have shitty graphics.

Doom
Doom II
Blades Of Steel

Hell even the first two GTA games were top-down view and looked/look like ass.

Never trust a complaint about graphics when you see the reviewer wearing these...

Surprised he didn't upgrade for a mere 30 dollars and get the heated wipers... :DD

The original had a loose plot. It was more about getting X amount of points via the mission multiplier or just doing random carnage and shit. Once you had enough points, you’d progress to the next area.

As for GTA 2…..

Like its predecessor Grand Theft Auto, the game focuses on players completing a series of levels, each requiring a set target score being achieved in order to progress to the next stage. Points are awarded from various criminal actions such as destroying cars, selling vehicles, and completing missions for various crime syndicates, with the latter awarding more points than doing simple criminal actions. Creating chaos from their crimes will cause the player to be wanted by the police who will hound the player to arrest or kill them, with higher wanted levels increasing the level of response used. Being arrested or dying loses the player any equipment they found, and impacts their multiplier bonus.

The game introduced several new features and improvements to the series. Players can now save their game during a playthrough of a level by visiting the church they start at, but must pay a set number of points to do so. Jobs on offer come from three different syndicates—each level features two unique syndicates, alongside a third syndicate present in all levels. By doing jobs for a syndicate and successfully completing them, the player gains respect with that syndicate, allowing them to take on tougher jobs with enough respect, but lose it with their chief rivals, locking them out of their jobs and making the syndicate's members hostile to the player. Other improvements include vehicles and pedestrians being more interactive with the game's environment—such as gang members engaging in fights with police—the presence of other criminals (such as muggers), a health meter, garages that can modify vehicles with special improvements, a selection of side missions ranging from running a taxi to driving a semi-truck, and groups of 'hidden' packages to find across the level.

DOOM was the first game that made me really interested in computers. None of the console ports of the time could even remotely compare with the PC version, they weren't even close. The fact that the developers made a game like that which ran smoothly on a f***ing 486 with 8 MB of RAM is frankly extraordinary.
