you're just mad korean game Lost Ark is destroying Steam records and is much more popular than Genshin
"Destroying Steam records"
PUBG still holds them

"Much more popular than Genshin"
It's the shiny new toy, Genshin at release had more popularity than Lost Ark right now; could still increase in the next couple of days, but we'll see.

as usual you are willfully ignoring the analytics

Lost Ark has skyrocketed to 2nd place in that list yes behind PUBG but still a meteoric rise from not being available in NA a few days ago (but has been available in South Korea for nearly 2 year now !)

These are not Steam analytics.

And I'm not saying Genshin is more popular RIGHT NOW. A game's popularity generally decreases with time, with a peak happening around release.

Also Lost Ark does not rely on primogems and pay models for players to succeed.

An F2P player could never (or if possible, would take a LONG time) get as many good 5 star Venti or Zhongli as someone who just blew all their money on loot box mechanics

Lost Ark is just as P2W as Genshin is.

I was still able to create and customize warrior without having to pay anything

meanwhile if you want anything good in genshin you have to pay

They're not P2W. They are, however, both "Pay to progress faster" games.

It matters more in Lost Ark if you take part in PvP.
it's to the point where you can't get anything f2p in genshin without paying for the loot because of the huge gap between the two.

I already explained to you. There is a difference between getting everything (i.e. every character, weapon, etc.) and being able to do the only endgame content.

The latter of which is perfectly doable by a F2P player who has been playing since the beginning.

You don't need all the 5-stars to complete it, much less all the 5-stars weapons. Getting them may allow to complete it more easily, or with less in-game investment, or quicker than a F2P player has (say 4 months instead of 6 months from the day you start playing).

You can fin a lot of videos of people clearing the abyss with F2P friendly teams - that is, teams without 5-stars characters, or just team without more than 1-2 5-stars characters.

It's just like Lost Ark where you can pay to level up stuff faster and get an edge - except that with Lost Ark, there's actually a PvP component - something that there is NOT with Genshin.

IT'S POSSIBLE IT' JUST TAKES WAY LONGER THAN IT WOULD BE FOR SOMEONE WHO JUST PAID FOR PRIMOGEMS

PEOPLE WHO PAID CAN JUST BREEZE BY THE GAME AND EASILY GET CHARACTERS

DO YOU NOT SEE HOW THIS IS UNFAIR

Endgame Genshin Impact Becomes Pay-to-Win? Community Rages

Endgame Genshin Impact Becomes Pay-to-Win? Community Rages

The popularity of Genshin Impact is not waning, but not everyone is delighted with some of the game's solutions. The controversy is primarily aroused by the Resin system, which, according to malcontents, limits the players at a later stage of the game too much and forces the frequent use of microtransactions.

Here's the biggest thing though, if you claim F2P can succeed then do it. Don't spend 500 dollars on primogems and you try beating endgame content with Zhongli

"Pay 2 Win is in reference to multiplayer games where people can buy clear advantages that free players can't compete with. They are literally paying to win.

Genshin is just a (mostly) single player game with the usual grind. Hell unlike most gachas there's not even a paywall forcing you to buy anything to progress, either."

This post summarizes everything well.

I haven't spent because I couldn't beat the game without it. I spend because 1) I can afford to do it and 2) because there are characters that I've wanted just to have them, because I like their gameplay, not because I needed them to beat the game.
