the average for warzone is about 5k to 6k for guys like Crowder (when he streamed in the morning) and DougIsRaw. Yes, guys like Symfuhny get 20k daily as well as TimTheTatMan

My point is you can still make a good amount with 5k viewers daily
My point is that this "5k viewers daily" is the viewership that only "the top of the top" streamers attain.

Practically, most of the careers that one can pursue offer a potential return that is 1) higher than that of pursuing a streaming career, 2) more in your own control (you don't have to be blessed by the algos) and 3) easier to attain. What streaming offers is that 1) it's a career that you can start pursuing as a hobby, without having to do years of study, and 2) a potential higher return assuming you do indeed get blessed by the algo.

For instance, less than 1% of the streamers make more than what an entry level engineering, programmer, etc position would make. But the top of the top streamers make more than the top of the top engineers, programmers, etc. (who still occupy those functions and aren't CEOs, VPs, or something).

Nickmercs has about 10k viewers a day maybe more

That's not the 1%
Twitch has around 2 MILLIONS active streamers (who stream monthly) according to data, and there's a natural rotation amongst those. As I said, 3100 streamers have earned >$70K since August 2019, which is "livable wage for a daily job" territory when you take into account the expenses they need to cover themselves as independent workers.

Even if you decide to say "1 million people have tried to pursue such a career since august 2019" (that number is higher in reality), that's only 0.3% of streamers.

that's not true

5k per day is NOT the 1%

What Zaiden Shogun is trying to say is that while it is certainly possible to become very wealthy via Twitch it is very statistically improbable. That's not opinion, that is a fact.
Exactly. And you have much less control over your success than you do with many other careers.

I'm not a streaming guy but in order to make it big it takes much, much more than just gaming talent and the appropriate personality for streaming. You also kind of have to either fall into the good graces of their finding algorithms, get mentioned by someone that is already huge, or both.

Like you said, there are so many factors out of your control so being great based on merit alone is nowhere near enough.

Yup, and the opportunities to make it based on merit are really limited nowadays. Basically you need a competitive game that goes massive (like LoL, Fortnite, Overwatch, etc) and for you to be really, really good and make it in tourneys. With regular games, forget "being one of the first" because the big streamers get them all in advance anyways. People were playing Far Cry 6 already 2-3 days ago.

Lot of money in streaming even for someone with 5k viewers

You're kind of making Zaiden Shogun's point for him/her/whateverpronountheywant in a way, though. It is very unlikely, but not impossible, to reach that level of following.

It's not very unlikely or impossible

It's essentially becoming an athlete

These gamers are basically esports figures

What your actual evidence that it's not unlikely? What percentage of Twitch streamers average 5k views?

EDIT: It's also extremely unlikely to make it as an athlete so that doesn't help your point.
