The Yankees never signed players to outrageous contracts. They signed players to contracts comparable to other players. This Soto contract completely blows up the market. Yankees never did that.

Their dynasty years were built with home grown players and shrewd trades. They didn't buy championships.

Yeah they only spent like a billion on three players in Stanton, Judge, and Cole.

Stanton was a trade. Judge and Cole contracts are both comparable to other star player contracts. Soto's contract is outrageous.
