Sure but there have been many players that people said are sure shot nhl stars and have turned out not to be and on the flip side players who don't have good world juniors have solid nhl careers.

I've liked the 1st period from a Canadian perspective. They're doing exactly what has made them successful, be relentless on the forecheck and swarmed the oppositon on defence. I have a feeling that the US. Is going to come out flying in the 2nd. There's still 2 whole periods left, the game isn't close to being over. Should be a good finish.
 
High shot from White there at the end, very good by Chabot not to get suckered into a penalty.
 
Couldn't have asked for a better 1st. Kept the American chances down and created enough of their own.

You've got your boots on their throats boys, just need to push down now.

He had better learn how to skate then, its not even close to NHL level, it's not even this level.
 
Excellent start from Team Canada, keep the pressure up for 40 more! They do need to clean up their act in their own zone but the forecheck has been fantastic.

Lets see what adjustments the US coaches make for the 2nd...

If I were them I would move Rosolovic up to 1st line... he's fresh and good...

Get US team to get simple, work it deep and dominate like they can on cycle against Canada...

I hope the US coaches don't do either... :nod:

I thought the USA would come out stronger, Canada take some time to settles in considering the time difference of the games yesterday. Happy with the result anyways.

We're playing our game, and our way. Loving the effort.

Wave after wave attack. Non-stop effort, these boys were born and trained for these moments. Bring your best when it matters the most.

Getting punched in the face by the Yanks in the round robin was exactly what we needed. Keep it up, play the next 40 this way and Gold is ours.
