Highligh packages are a trash way to get a feel for a game, I think it was the Bos and leafs games where the extended highlights for both games skipped the third period entirely.
The Canes dominated the first 10 mins of the game, the rest of the game was pretty even with the Sens having a distinct edge in the third.
The problem with the eye test is it tends to be impacted by emotions (especially when it comes to fans of one of the teams), sens fans were primed to have a negative view of the game based on the score and the first ten mins,
This works both ways of course, so some fans will think the team played great while other believe they played poorly, truth likely pies somewhere in the middle. Fancy stats aren't perfect, but saying they don't match your eye test isn't a strong argument against them,
When a team goes up they sonetimes just sit back and don't extend for offense and close out the game without expending extra energy.
That's what the Canes did, must have showed that Ottawa played better in the stats but it was never close.
Carolina got up a couple, put the Sens in a sleeper hold. And that was game.
