NESN UPDATE - NESN’s Jack Edwards announces retirement

Dumb question here but what exactly is wrong with Jack? Is he suffering from Dementia? Other?
I hope not , never wish ill health on anyone, but he is not good for my health when i am watching the game and listen to him, and really pisses me off when NESN picture sucks.

One last time...please take Ol' Yeller out back...no, I'm joking. I again suggest a pre-recorded pregame (with as many painful takes as necessary to make it palatable) "Keys to the Game" segment with Jack. I don't even care, as I suggested twice before, call it "Jack's Tumblin' Muffins". Please, please just get him out of the live announcing gig. Jack has jumped the shark. And before every Jack supporter gets mad at me, I feel really bad that it has come to this and I am hopeful that his health improves but this is not fair to the viewers, the Bruins or Jack himself.

They must be paying him and Brick pennies, I see no other reason for either of them to be still calling the games. They both are terrible

Jack has had several of these in game interviews over the last month or so and they've all been cringe worthy.

Maybe don't have him do this in game and have the hosts do it between periods. I'm not a fan of the in-game interview to begin with, but when they are constantly embarrassing someone needs to put a stop to it.

They already took the post-game Monty interview away from him and gave it to Brick. Those were awful for Jack going back to last year.

If the B's insisted on him being back for the 100 year anniversary season then fine. But this has to be the last season. Give him something else to do, put him in the bear uniform, anything but in front of a mic again.

A lot of awkward, period. Because it was pretty bad when he was talking, too.
Exactly, beyond the actual mechanics of speech, the words he was saying were so awkward. In the GDT I referred to it as a drunken best man speech at a wedding reception. He literally told him "you have made me a better human being". Like what?

I'm okay that they brought him back to call games for the Bruins 100th year, but I do hope they move on with a different PxP guy next year. Going back and watching old games from 10-15 years ago it's like a different person now. I'll always cherish Jack's great calls from years gone by, but right now I feel more and more despondent hearing him struggle to get words out.

Time for Jack to retire, things like this usually just get worse over time.

Love the guy and wish the best for him, but it is time to hang em up. . . . . .

It's just bad. I know certain people get angry when people say that, but it's true.

Jack Edwards at one point was one of my favorites, but right now it's an absolute chore to listen to. There's obviously a health issue and for that I wish him nothing but the best, but it's not fair to him or the fans to have to endure that for 2+ hours every game.

He's trying to make sure he nails every syllable in a players name to the point it just sounds like he's talking underwater. It's a complete mess. Last night he must have had 15 different variations for Vasilevskiy, none of which were his actual last name. You add in that and how awkward that interview was with Lucic earlier in the year and Bergeron last night, it's just sad, man.

Again, I wish him nothing but the best, but it's time to hang up the skates. NESN should see this too, and they're the ones I blame most, not Jack.

What gets me is when people repeatedly say "I wish him nothing but the best" in between their insults and feigned pity.

I like Jack and when the time comes for him to step away I'll raise a glass to him.

Where did I insult him?

I figured you’d be the one to take offense to literally everything involving peoples critiques of Jack.
