Unretire Gretzky's number league wide

I got a question for you though, if you took something away from MJ like you could with Goals with Gretzky, does he still have more than 2nd all time?

because if you took every goal Gretzky scored and he's still 1st all time goals scored away he would still be first all time in points in just assists
