From what i am seeing in this 2nd period, Dickinson is having a good game. Few good defensive plays and strong offensively.
Good in the second. Okay in the first outside that one rough shift where he fell and got hemmed in from a failed breakout.

Dickinson is at his best when he gets to really stretch his legs. Definitely get the sense that his marching orders are to play low event hockey, which is not the type of player he is.

I haven't been super enthused about the idea of giving Ceci another deal, but thinking about Dickinson this way, I wonder if Ceci might be an ideal partner him next season.

I haven't been able to watch him at all, does it look like he sees the play and just doesn't execute fast enough or does he not see the play
Execution. It's like he sees all the options but can't decide what's optimal and stalls until he's forced to make the worst possible play. He really wants to make high skills plays but something is holding him back (just okay hands plays a part in that). He really needs to make quick, simple plays.

well, at least he sees the options, he might be able to work that out

Looks like Mynio will be the 8th defenseman. I think Dickinson outplayed Akey in pre-tourney games. We'll see what the game 1 lineup looks like.

I think Dickinson will be in the lineup for game 1. At least he was on the third pairing for Canada’s final practice before the first game. Weird though because he was paired with Mynio…

Mostly because the games are all on he East Coast so that's the starting time in Ottawa/Montreal

Yeah, but they are a national broadcaster and so their times should reflect Eastern and Pacific to encompass the greatest number of people in their audience.

I guarantee you that if the tournament was in Vancouver they would not be tweeting out a schedule that only has Pacific start times. It would have both.

As many problems as gravity causes for everyone, time is the real killer.

Also: Is Canadian Tire the Wal*Mart of Canada?

No. I'm not quite sure how to classify it. It started out as an automotive store way back in the, but it has expanded out to carry basically everything short of significant groceries. It also tends to have a better selection of housewares, yardwork stuff, and tools than something like Walmart. If I need tools or the like and don't need something specialized enough to need to go to Home Depot then chances are I'll go to Canadian Tire because it's cheaper and has a better product warranty (all their house brand tools have a pretty much no-questions-asked lifetime guarantee as long as you have the receipt.) They're also better than something like Walmart for sporting goods, household storage (plastic totes and bins) and "utility" furniture like dressers, cabinets, shelving units, etc, and kitchen wares.

Was wondering, thanks! I've caught the odd commercial since I'm cutting the cord... Those warranties sound awesome, as someone that breaks things on occasion. Companies don't really stand behind what they sell so much nowadays. (for obvious reasons)

I'm not loving Buium's game so far. He's playing kind of dumb and reckless like he doesn't really respect the Germans or the tournament

I like shopping there. If you don't need groceries, toys and games, or electronics they do have almost anything you might need around the house. And a better selection of things like cleaning supplies or kitchen wares than what I tend to find at my Walmart. They also usually have a fair number of sales so it's easy to get things like storage totes for dirt cheap.

I'm watching Sweden/Slovakia on delay because I couldn't start live at 9am and I'll bet Pierre's super pissed to not be working for TSN anymore. It's nothing but constant Skelleftea references.

Fair. You also have to figure a majorty of Canadians are on the East Coast so if they were only going to tweet out one time zone it would be that.
