Shipachev was 30 when he came in the NHL. It was never going to work at this age. Gusev has 54 points in 97 NHL games offensively he was fine. But he was 27 when he came to the NHL and after 2 years trying to adjust he was already 29. In the case of Plotnikov he has not been really dominating the KHL. He has always been under a ppg in the KHL and significantly for some seasons. Panarin was only 23 when he came to the NHL and that was after a very dominating season at 22. Not comparable imo.I don’t he would be better then Newhook personally
And Panarin is an exception, look at the Gusev/Shipachev/Plotnikov and cie who many thoughts they would come and have a major impact
