So Pasta is Ray Bourque and nobody can make more than him? Sinden used Bourque as his personal salary cap for years and they won nothing and Bourque had to go to Colorado to win a Cup. Marner would be a huge addition to a terrible offensive team and is still young. Pay him what he wants.
Gotta admit that I'd never thought I'd see the day where @Fenian24 would be an advocate for signing Marner.

Not that I think its a bad idea, moreso the fact that I'd never thought I'd see you advocating throwing big money at a small, non-physical player who's on the soft side.

You feeling OK? :DD

It’s not a bad group at all if your wingers are elite. We just have a cliff drop of multiple tiers after Pasta and need to start filling that void. Until someone better comes along for first line center to make that happen, let’s get those top 6 winger slots glowing hot.

I did not say that he cannot be paid more than Pasta.

What are the odds bruins offsheet knies or Rossi in the offseason. 7-8 mill x 2 so it doesn’t hurt us long term if they don’t live up to that price but it might just be enough to scare off Toronto and Florida given the money the will need to hand out to Marner and kaprizov more proven players.
Compensation would be a 1st/2nd/3rd but given bruins have 2 1st I think they could choose which first like Carolina did with Kotkaniemi

I see a lot of Bennett talk so why not go for a younger knies who brings that same power forward style of play, he’s also done quite well against Boston. Personally I thought that Knies/Domi/ Nylander line we faced in playoffs last year was the best line they had thrown at Boston Idk why Toronto changed that line when Matthews came back

Desperate times Rocco, desperate times. I also want Jeanott and Bennet if it makes you feel any better but they need some scorers first and foremost. Viel and Kastelic with Lauko and Zadorov can handle the physical stuff.

I like veil every know and then, but if he's a regular the Bruins will be in the McKenna sweepstakes, which could be a good thing. lol

Doesnt work that way. Has to be your own picks. Not any additional or different ones that you have. Just for clarity.

How did Carolina make it that it was the lower of their 2 1sts they had going back to Montreal in the kotkaniemi OS?

They sent their first and third.

important to note that any team trying to sign a player to an applicable offer sheet must use their own draft picks for compensation, not acquired ones. That rules several teams out already from signing high-profile RFAs unless they were to work to reacquire their picks before submitting the contract.

I realized after my mistake and that it was the Dvorak trade post OS that had the conditional 1st.

Depending on Bruins direction for next season I’d still be open to an OS for Rossi or knies. Unless that 1st falls into the top 8 I’d feel pretty confident that B’s will still walk away with the better player. Especially with knies I think he could become a very solid power forward in the league

Odds, I would put them around 0.13 %

I left Geekie out as I think he will ask for too much money. Can't blame him but I wouldn't sign him for big dollars. Boeser is a more proven player.

Maybe don't sign any of these players and make a massive pitch to Marner?

It doesn't matter "how much he asks for" he is a RFA, therefore, I'm pretty sure they will go to arbitration and he will not get anything close to what you are giving to Boeser. Btw, Boeser? No thanks.

which is a shame, leafs love knies and I’d love for the bruins to snag him from them. He’s a real pain in the ass and I’d assume he come back and haunt Toronto if they choose not to match the deal.

Would also give the bruins a true power forward and he’s got some decent wheels aswell once he gets going. I could only imagine the stretch passes Mittelstadt could make to knies and pasta going on a 2 man rush.

I agree with you i dont think this team will ended as a lottery team next year, so try to get a proven young skilled player via offersheet with their 1st pick is a better option at least its a certainty

I liked your suggestion to offer sheet Peterka. I don't think the Bruins will be bad enough to get another top 10 pick in '26 like they most likely will this year. One more top 6 winger and I think the Bruins are back to being playoff contenders as long as Swayman comes back with a different mindset next year.

There’s a few guys this offseason that could potentially be in that same boat of needing a new team with better opportunities.

Alexander Holtz
Jack Quinn
Hendrix Lapierre
And the big one in my opinion is Maverick Bourqe, Dallas is in a real bad cap spot this offseason I think if you were to offer 2.5+ mill, they wouldn’t be able to match without having to sell low or spend a lot to move cap

Rossi is their best center and yet Bruins fans would hate on him so much because he’s even smaller than Poitras. The only way Minny doesn’t match is because you reach a number that they think inhibits them from scrapping together a team after Kirill gets 15 kamillion AAV. If you’re going to go for him, at least make it 4 years.

Knies is part of the Leafs long term plan. Otherwise you would’nt have heard about Marner being asked to waive at the deadline. He makes a sweet Bruin though in my beer dreams.
