UNB Reds Thread (Part5)

Went to the first Red Wings game and, while it was entertaining enough, I could never get into them like I do UNB.

With Senior Hockey around here (or St. Stephen where I’m from)…it seems like those leagues almost inevitably get ruined by one or two owners that take it way too seriously (especially considering it’s NB senior hockey FFS) and that ultimately ruins it for the league.

I was never a Red Wings fan at all, I don’t have the highest opinion of some of the people involved with the team, I never got overly invested but it was always cool to see a guy popup in the CIS you had seen play tier-2.

100% I play pickup hockey with some guys who play in the BSL and all I ever hear them talk about is “this guy gets paid this much” , “this team offered me this much”.

If Bathurst couldn't support the Q, I doubt they will JR "A".

Also, this should put more fans in the seats at the UNB games.
I would have to think a Jr. A team is cheaper to operate than a Major Junior team?

Honestly, I didn’t notice much of a difference in the attendance at UNB games with the Red Wings here. Obviously it won’t hurt, but I am skeptical how much more UNB will draw now.

85% of the people at Wings games also go to UNB games . The ones that don’t never have..
Agreed on the cost , Bathurst is a Junior A town with a Q team.

I think with Jr A there is a number of close teams for them to play, and as you say, it's cheaper.

I don't know for a fact but I think the UNB attendance is baked in.

Just my opinion, but I think a Junior fan won't watch University where a University fan will watch watch Junior.

Trying some different line combinations tonight .

I actually really like Huckins playing a bigger role , I thought he was arguably the most effective forward against X last weekend , he’s really improved his play the last few weeks so it was nice to see him get to play in the top 6.
He’s definitely not the prettiest skater but I think there is a lot more to him than we’ve seen so far this year .
